2,352 for the week for me
Up 22 spots to 92nd overall
242nd for the week.

All that despite missing Mills, and picking up the putrid Bolton as a Dusty replacement.

Stoked to finally crack the top 100 for the season... Usually there a lot earlier in the season but I'll take it in 2021, lol

I’m potentially at an interesting juncture:

- Ranked 40
- Obviously not winning it, but keen to finish as high as I can
- 3 trades left
- $35k cash
- Worst on field players in their position are Ridley (ave 83), Gaff (98), Bolton (81)
- Best players I don’t have across those lines would be Mills (109), Miller (122) and Dunkley (111) - ie essentially 25ppg upgrades are available if everyone holds their averages
- Full bench in def and mid, meaning I could trade Highmore (394k) or Weightman (381k) and still have some cover

So essentially I can use two trades to upgrade one on field spot, possibly with a little cash left over for my last trade, or keep holding fire for injury (/suspension/iso) cover when it’s needed.

I’m inclined to keep waiting.

Would anyone pull the trigger? Who would you upgrade?

Would it be possible to post your side to further help with any recommendations?

Gee that is a tough one. All the weak links capable of pulling out a big one to make you feel silly. But instinctively 3 trades feels too many to sit on. If I were you I don't think I'd be able to resist Bolton to Dunkley. But that doesn't mean it's necessarily the right thing to do. Unhelpful, I know.

Definitely wouldn't use 2 trades for just one minor upgrade.
If it was me I would look at using one trade to improve an underperformer or bring in some pod plays.

All depends how much risk you want to take.
Bolton -> Marshall would be the most obvious and safest trade I think, would provide ruck cover as well.

A risky play I would look at is trading out Taranto, role was horrible last game and reckon he would be in nearly 100% of top teams.
Who you could bring in
Parish although likely to get a tag again this week.
Crisp move Laird to mids, was it a coincidence his highest score came last week when Pendles was out?
Fiorini, very risky but this guys just scores and would leave you about 130k itb.

Having said that, in the last 2 weeks I've used 4 trades in trying moves like this, ie complete side and upgrading underperforming guys and I reckon I've been worse of for the trades, too often a guy scores well after a bad game and the guy a bring in has a shocker.

Thanks very much @stephen @Hawk41.

I think your advice captures it nicely - 3 feels like potentially too many trades to sit on, but using 2 for a mini-upgrade might be overkill/regretted. My modest cash balance seems to be the issue.

Looking for a mini upgrade I can do in one trade probably makes the most sense. I’ll have a look at your suggestions, thank you.

An option could be:
Out: C Weightman and T Highmore
In: J Ginivan and S Durham

Next week use the last trade on Edwards to Dunkley (via Durham and Madden). Durham and Bianco as the def/mid swing to cover both lines, Bramble to cover any midfield injuries and Bolton to cover any injuries to the forwards.

Thanks very much @Connoisseur. I weighed up this option, and tried to form a view on how important cover would be until season’s end, which is always a bit speculative! I’m hopeful I won’t need to rely too much on cover with my trade position ... famous last words.

Ultimately I decided to go for Marshall to replace Bolton, with Ryder’s withdrawal - and the fact that I like Marshall as a player - nudging me over the line.

Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts. Hopefully our leagues can push higher in the rounds to come!

I traded Jelly out to a “placeholder” in Luke Parker last night, but can switch to any other mid $728,400 or below via the trade loophole.

Does anyone have a view on a better candidate than Parker, and Gaff and Sidey who I already own?

FWIW I have one trade left after this (and own Danger), so loose change would be handy but may not be critical.
