Will have to field one of Durham or Coleman-Jones, does anyone have any logical insight into which is likely to score higher? Durham coming off a 94, CCJ named as starting ruck, any bombers fans know of Durham is likely to replicate against the pies, any tigs fans know if CCJ has played ruck before and how he might go against Ceglar? Any advice would be appreciated, and for what it’s worth my head and gut say Durham! Thanks legends 👍

Tanking at its finest…..
getting prepped for next year and sending players in for surgery this week….
Good move, should of done it against North. As soon as we had to start relying on other games going our way the year was cactus.

Sad we won't be able to get the win for Astbury in his last game, but Hawks are also playing for Clarko/Silk.

Greatly benefits my SC team, with Titch racking up 70 touches and the ball living in Shorty's backline.

Everyone wins.

What would McKay have earnt?
$200k by 15 years?
Handy little earner.
Tad higher given inflation, the increases in salary cap and the raft of performance incentives he consistently met in his contract which he had renegotiated with new stipulations entered each season explaining his affinity for one year deals.

Minimum wage for an AFL player with at least three years experience was $105,000 in 2018 (https://www.aflplayers.com.au/app/uploads/2020/12/AFL_CBA_2017-2022_INFOGRAPHIC_PLAYER_PAYMENTS.PDF)

Do not forget the influx of royalties, television or sportsman night appearances and endorsement fees thanks to his storied career, as well as the vast amounts of tax concessions and deductions allowable.

I'm surprised players from teams playing their last game of the season are getting dropped as "managed".
Maybe I mis-understood what the use of "managed" meant. I thought it was to not over-load them, and help them get through the season.
When it's the last game of the season, you just play them, unless they are heading off to surgery .......... don't you?

"No, no, no ..... he needs a rest, so he doesn't get too fatigued by seasons end!"

Which leads to the question of Mad Monday celebrations (or lack of) which will cause the players to do all kinds of weird **** in their own homes.

I'd been meaning to say the same in as many words. It'd be far less confusing to just say "omitted"!

I’d imagine it’d be considered a disrespect to put omitted next to a lot of those guys names when the reason they’re not playing is so they don’t get injured/exacerbate injuries, rather than actually getting omitted

Just another term misunderstood by Australian sport, joining the evergrowing list headlined by the likes of Moneyball.

Given the very short attention span and lack of retention by both the media and supporters alike, as well as being the last round of the regular season, it should be of no significance or cause of concern for players. Would not be any need to use managed if the injury was disclosed or even a vague description (which they seem to enjoy using).

Wasn't there something a few years ago where a player that was listed as omitted wasn't then allowed to be named as a Emergency , whereas if they used the term managed the club could then name them as a Emergency.

I am sure they actually changed the rules around it.
