I think that is @Lenny5 - not sure if it is the same Lenny with a different user name or not. Post below refers to that team.

Australia won 3-1. They have now won 11 games in a row, which is a new record for WC qualifying in a single campaign.

China 3 Vietnam 2
Saudi Arabia 1 Japan 0

After 3/10 qualifying games, Australia and Saudi Arabia are undefeated on 9 points, 3rd place is Japan who are on 3, after winning 1 and losing twice. Top 2 qualify directly. Even though we have beaten the bottom 3 in the group, our toughest matches are probably still to come.

Japan in Japan up next on Tuesday night, then Saudi Arabia a month later. Good results in both will give us a huge chance of the direct qualifying, as they are likely our two toughest opponents in the group.

I didn't get up to watch , great result.

Japan losing again , might be ripe for the taking on Tuesday night (or come out firing)

Germany are the first nation to qualify for next year's World Cup finals after beating North Macedonia this morning, Qatar as host excluded obviously (the only way they will qualify - by buying their spot). There's a few other countries close to confirming qualification, a lot of them will be locked in next month in the next international break.

Aussies play Japan tonight, the other 4 teams in our group play in the early hours of the morning. Unlike Europe and Africa, the Asian qualifying goes until March, so it could be a while before we know if the Aussies qualify or not.

Bit harsh on Qatar (although the $$$ certainly helped) , they are actually the 5th best ranked team in Asia on FIFA rankings

Yeah possibly. They have still never qualified before, guess if they keep throwing enough support (cash) at the team and the sport in general they may qualify legitimately one day.

They definitely weren't the best option for hosting this WC, they bought it - I don't think many people would argue with that.

Just realised they also won the Asian Cup in 2019 , lots of oil money in developing football in some of those Middle East countries.
