Brodie went out of my side the second he was trailing ****ing Sean Darcy in a time trial, thats just pathetic really for a guy with that much time in the system and tells me he wont cover the ground well enough to be an AFL midfielder and he cant play anywhere else, beating up on a B side full of kids doesnt mean much.
He what?? I guess those endurance gains from last season didn't last long. tbh I'm not sure what the difference between Brodie and someone like Brayden Sier aside from the fact that Brodie was drafted in the top 10. Big bodied midfielders aren't always all they're cracked up to be.

I remember that, he took 30 seconds off his PB, but they never mentioned how bad his original times were haha, I think sitting in the 2s all year at Gold Coast gives us a fair indication though.

I read recently that apparently Sier never stopped smoking throughout his career 😱

The last guy I heard of being a smoker that succeeded .... going back a long while and changing sports ...

- Was "Chicka Ferguson" from the Canberra Raiders ...
- All reports I read said that he was a chain smoker in the corner of the rooms at half time ...
- Getting old now but my last recollection (I think) of him was scoring the winning try in the 1989 grand final ...

But times have definitely changed since then ..

Sounds like a huge negative to me, just about rule him out now in fact.

If he's playing forward in intra-club games then he's got no chance in the midfield in the real stuff and already playing a role in which he's doomed to fail.

Unfortunate because they could use him in the midfield and he could be a good one if he could stick it.

Stanton is the name that comes to mind for me, all the more amazing given he was such a great runner.

The one I remember is Jai Taurima, the long jumper that won silver in Sydney 2000. I was there that night!

Oscar Allen ($346,300 - priced at 63.6)
I can't help feeling that he has the ability to score well in excess of his salary.
My impression is that he had an unsettled/topsy-turvy 2021 and didn't consistently show what he is capable of.
Any thoughts or feedback from subjects of the hermit kingdom - what is he capable of in 2022?
Lets say hes a stay at home forward, whats his ceiling realistically, 90 at absolute best? Cant get around that one.

I don’t quite follow what you saying here. The tweet said that he kicked two goals from the midfield, not that he was playing forward, right?

He rotated between midfield and forward with half their midfield either not playing full stop or on the other team, I really don't see how people are reporting that as if its a positive but I'm not a Journalist.

Understanding that you think 90 is Allen's maximum ppg.
But I think I would be satisfied with that result.
In an earlier post (#202 in the thread SC BBL|11: Rolling Perfect Team [Post #157 onwards]) I worked out that last year's SC overall winner averaged about 103 ppg - per player across the season.
If we assume there is a position-by-position distribution around the average - that our big-guns at M1, M2, R1 etc. would be pumping out bigger numbers than 103, then the lower positions such as F4/F5 will be contributing something less. Quite possibly a 90 from there is OK.
In fact if we get 90 until the byes, we can look for a sling-shot upgrade and F4/F5 might lift to an even higher seasonal average.
Considering we could get Allen at 63ppg, perhaps a 90 would not be a fail after all.

Would still like to hear the other WCE regulars @Shannon, @GrainFedBee, @Eagling etc think of Allen's prospects in 2022..

There's quite a few MP's available this year and for quite a bit less with similar scoring potential.

W Rioli priced at 41
Curnow priced at 41
Cogs priced at 48
Coleman priced at 48
D Rioli priced at 62

FWIW I don't think that a 90 ave will cut the mustard this year with Dunkley, Duncan, Martin, De Goey, Heeney, Thomas, Treloar, Stringer, Taranto et al all looking like they'll exceed 100
