Shame, if he keeps up last years form he'd be quite interesting
It's purely psychology of fantasy coaches! He's a really solid pick, in fact he's better than that. He averaged 124 over the last 15 weeks last year, 131 over the last 5.

That said the Crouch/Dawson factors definitely are spanners in the works for taking that finish and using it as a base for this year. Often though better teammates actually help guys who were one man shows in the midfield and at least those two will generally hit him by hand and foot unlike Keays as his running mate last year!

Could Rory Sloane be a better choice?

Also with Dawson coming to Crows, does that change balance?
You do know you don't have to pick a Crow right?

Sloane is a bad pick. Might become relevant if he gets FWD at round 7.

I think with Greg Clark out injured, the 4 rookie midfield is a bit of a stretch so I'm looking for a discounted mid to compensate.
I dont see it like that personally, genuine question marks on rookie stocks full stop up forward and down back yet we really should have JHF,Daicos,Ward,Erasmus,Hobbs,Stephens and Tsitas in the guts, always a couple more that bob up from nowhere and theres every chance a couple of that 200-350k range fly up in value aswell quite a few of the options have done it previously, obviously if guys arent getting named or roles look dodgy well have to look at it but think that's much more likely to be an issue on other lines, I've always been inclined to go light where the cash generation appears to be, especially when we have 35 trades to smash out upgrades quickly, starting 3 genuine top line premo mids is in serious contention for me personally.

I mean Jason Horne-Francis at M1 is a viable strategy.
You have to have a look 😀

JHF , Macrae , Ralphsmith , Davies , Lazzaro , Daicos , Ward , Stephens / Erasmus , NWM , Martyn

pick any you like

Lloyd , Crisp , Dawson , Short , Whitfield , Sicily

Darcy , Grundy

Dunkley , JDG , Bailey , TT , Heeney , Butters

Does the bench make enough $$$ to upgrade all 8 rookie mids ? I guess you need all the rookie mids to go at least 70+

Can't fit them all in 😀 , that's the problem though filling lines from the start , want to make sure they are the right ones.

Keen on Sidebottom as well now.

Even if they go 80-90 you probably are not trading them out.

Then you could have some of the mid pricers scoring the same from the start.

It's all too hard , just start the season so we can lock in our teams.

Yeap I think there is real potential with Sidebottom.

Going from inside mid/half forward to wing is a huge upgrade for an outside player.

Only needs 95 ish to justify his starting price as a forward, which he has accomplished almost every season for the last 10 years.

Treloar's name keeps sticking out to me, but ........
He was a 110 player as the number 1 mid in his team in the prime years for a mid. He's neither of those things anymore. Maybe he has a 100 year left in him? At 100 he is handy but not a must have and as a "just handy" pick he is not reliable enough. And so I take my reminiscence goggles off and keep moving.

Completely forgot about him , too busy focused on: -

Duncan & Dunkley
Bailey , Butters , de Goey , Graham , Heeney , Thomas group
will start Coleman , Coniglio & Curnow

Gresham & Rayner maybe worth a look plus a few other options

Damn hard line to select

Role is the worry with Sidebottom, not sure a 31 year old is going to get priority in a rebuilding side either.

He'll be 29 when the season starts which is on the wrong side of the peak but not quite the SC graveyard yet (maybe if he was still mid only).

Agree 110 is on the edge of his range now but don't see 100 as his maybe ceiling. Depends on his how his fitness looks but I'm not ready to write him off yet. Guy just knows how to rack them up. Not my first picked but when I go heavy forward I have a spot for him.

We have 3 players that can play wing, Sidebottom, J Daicos and Poulter. There is very little competition for the wing spot, I mean we had C Brown play wing last year so you can see how low the bar is...
