Here are some cash projections based on predicted / guessed average. Obviously no one scores the same each week but it shows how hard it is for more expensive players to generate cash and how quickly it can slow down. After 4 or 5 price rises it really is just a drip feed.

Great table , some interesting numbers and price calculations.

Early doors obviously but I would probably be relying on my midpricers to get me to the Byes unscathed and then looking to upgrade them.

Do you guys think Lipinski would still average around 100 when De Goey comes back? And if you pick him, are you expecting him to be a keeper or a stepping stone to someone else?
I just feel he's kinda at an awkward price, yeah there is an upside but still!
Not in my plans at the moment but I'm keeping an eye on him. If he is majority mid but rotating forward, gets dpp and averages 95 he's a very cheap F6. Shiel and Rowell probably less likely to get the dpp and so would need to average 105 to be cheap M8's.

I have JHF and Daicos but not Ward.

JHF scored 83 SC with ease against Melbourne.

Daicos looks a fairly easy pick.

Ward didn’t do enough to warrant the price-tag for mine.
Wow JHF scored 83 off that game??

Seems like a future Bont type fantasy players that does all the little things and has a lesser reliance on disposals for scoring.

Yeah really surprised me too.

Not a fan of having to pay a premium for first year players but he looks fairly important if he scores that well so easily.

Anyone currently have all of JHF, J.Ward and N.Daicos in their team?
Daicos is pretty much locked but I'm not too sure about JHF and Ward. Both their prices are steep and wondering if they're a must-have or not.
Yep. Going to have another look at Ward before I decide one way or the other.

JHF getting 80-odd against the Ds is good enough for me and I'd be excommunicated if I didn't pick little Daics.

I mean he had 20 disposals and 5 tackles. Not as if he didn't accumulate as well.

JHF and Daicos locked for mine, both passed the eye test and look capable of living up to the hype. Ready made game winners.

I think we also discount how much easier it will be for a guy like JHF when you've got Simpkin and LDU in there to help win the ball, Hall coming off half back to hit him up and just the team generally not getting smashed.

I thought it was a solid game, he definitely scored better than I expected which is always a good trait. He's so clean and he tackles well, those are really strong starting points for scoring well in quieter games.

I also love that he's a very strong chance of being a DPP forward at round 7 as I think there will be rewards this year for holding the better rookies a bit longer. Also has the best bye if you were to hold to that point.

I do think JHF is more Noah Anderson than Matt Rowell as a pick though where I feel pretty good he makes you 150k but it's probably going to be closer to round 12 than round 6, hopefully he's a bit quicker than him and times it more around round 14 than 18 to hit that 240k clip though, that would be really nice :)

I think the added bonus is that he can play a clearance role .... where on the ground shouldn't matter too much IMO as they rotate their players ..

Thoughts on the fantasy game for Paddy McCartin? I could barely stand watching the swans v giants game due to the camerawork.

Swans BF seem to be confident his name is inked in to the round 1 22 so he must have been pretty impressive?

It will be a great story if he goes on to have a good career from here

In my backline at the moment. Would provide a nice mature aged player to hold d6 if he gets picked. Concerned about the concussions but any pick has risks.

Has that place become any less nauseating than back in the day? Used to be just about the worst of the BF team boards and if you're a fan of the team and feel that way it says something

He was outstanding, not just playing well for a spot in the team but very good for fantasy purposes. Probably going to be times he gets beaten doing it but he always backs himself to mark it rather than spoil, which I love. Worth noting though that Horse always had issues with Aliir doing the same (albeit it was more that he would then play on and take the game on) so the fact I like him doing it doesn't mean Horse will and, sadly, his opinion matters more!

We could use an intercept option as well so having him willing to do it could be very good.

Definitely potential for a 70 type average there with definite potential for 100+ spike games. Will also be games where he scores 30 I dare say given the role but the fact that he got the start and then demanded attention with his play, is a very good sign. That spot in the side is wide open and both Reid and Melican are strong competition but McCartin has a lot more natural ability than those two (Reid is now well past the potential phase of his career, he is what he is) so I'd like to see him as the priority.

DPP just makes him a better option. Like any rookie KPD, ideally he'd be a looped bench option but his price probably you want a starter from, need to see another game and would love to see the stats as it was impossible to watch that game but was a big tick for mine.

Way to give us nothing James...
