I actually thought he was awesome when he was out there and its a very good role, not sure I could actually pick him though.
Can I ask what the point is of watching the preseason games then?

People talk about "watchlist", then watch, see nothing but positives, but then use their preconceived biases to downplay what they have seen.
Whats stopping him from literally breaking his back again thats my issue, thats not exactly a minor injury.
The same thing that's stopping Dusty getting a lacerated kidney again.

They are freak contact injuries (likely from a knee in the back) that could happen to anyone. A fractured vertebra is hardly comparable to a calf or hamstring in terms of likely recurrence.

Its not just the back youve got to worry about though Cripps has had horrific durability over the years, shoulder reco, broken leg, numerous soft tissue injuries, theres more to selecting a guy than just seeing them play a couple of good pre season games.

What happened with McGovern's TOG? Only one off his career high disposal count from 62% could be encouraging if that number doesn't indicate he's not fit enough for more.
I will watch the reply in a few days and be tempted yet again.

I have memories of missing hall last year after I said to myself he cannot keep this going.

My concern is sides make him more accountable in season but he was very very good, can't let a guy just take intercept marks for days.

If you can get a full season where he doesnt have to play through some sort of injury you're probably getting 115 for 450k, thats the attraction of the pick, just comes down to whether or not you think his body will hold up really.

Can you list the soft tissue injuries? I think the number is actually zero.

All of his injuries are contact/collision based. You can add a PCL to the ones you listed above. Likely some ribs in there as well, but clubs will always hide that. He had stress-related issues with his back in his first season, but a lot of tall kids struggle with that until they grow into their body.

In the 7 years since, he has missed a total of 14 games. 7 of those were in 2017 with the broken leg, after being kicked in the back of the calf. The key is working out when he is continuing to play when he shouldn't and jumping off if it appears to be a mid to long term issue.

I have had a play around with my team and the only way I can get him in is to remove Whitfield or Heeney, so swapping one injury prone player for another. But Cripps looked so good last night and at least we now what roll he will play, because who really knows what roll the other two will end up playing?
Shame I have to pull my team apart to do this

Was Cripps SC score posted at qtr time anywhere? seen he had 47 dreamteam pts at qtr time but watching the replay of the first I couldn't help but see him keep turning it over a lot, gave away a free and just look frustrated.

Just wonder if the old "myth" of if Champion data giving players extra scores cause they have them haha

Only way I can really see him fitting is downgrading an uber mid to him, and really not sure I want to be doing that.

Always going to get a massive SC score when you kick 4 goals out of the midfield and go at 80%, not a score I have question marks over personally, thats his ceiling when it all clicks.

Was 38 at quarter time for reference.

Gone from considering 0 Carlton players (maybe Hewett) to considering Cripps, Gov, Durdin pretty strongly!

Wasn't burnt by Cripps last 2 years, so he is easier for me to jump on. Think he is a start or never own player, no point trading him in after potential price rises (or even after 2 good scores if he dominates early) as I think inevitably he will need to be traded out at some point. However I think starting him can work even if he breaks down at some point, with the extra trades. Just gotta know when to pull the trigger....

Gov is very awkardly priced, at 200K I'd just consider him a premium rookie but 256K is a bit of no-mans land. I think his role is good though, with Weitering/Omac taking the better forwards. He should thrive against teams that have a weak or no 3rd tall. Again, with the extra trades, potentially worth the risk (unless that logic is applied to the whole team, then it becomes super risky!)

Durdin injury sounds precautionary, sounds like a good chance he scrapes into the Round 1 team as a small forward (Owies a lock as small forward, but they can probably play Owies/Durdin/Fisher/SOS in the same team)

I'd still rather not pick Gawn, my lean was a Witts/Preuss R1/R2 which I assume is contrary to SCS but I haven't analysed too much yet!
