Does anyone seriously rate Naish's ability to hold down a spot for West Coast? I can only remember hearing negative things about him being far too outside for this level, and WC have tended to use Redden on the wing a fair bit. There isn't room for more than one true outside winger in most sides these days.

Plays a position they have virtually zero talent or depth in, I expect he'll play plenty whether or not hes good enough to actually score enough points at nearly 190k is my concern.

Hopefully he can be the second coming of Bradd Dalziell for them. I don't think I'll start him, but at least he's another option in that price range.

Seems like many are getting cold feet on having worthwhile defender rookies this week - anyone comment or add to the below

McCartin - JS looks there, pretty good role for scoring and has shown signs in pre-season - possible on field start
Gibcus - reasonable JS, probably more a lockdown defender that'll be inconsistent in scoring - bench maybe
Hinge - JS looks good, role looks good, can score, injury a real worry and a bit of a risk
SDK - borderline best 22, role ok and scoring inconsistent - bench cover
Kelly - JS a worry, probably out in straight sets

Scoring rookie defenders look a worry - could be plenty of sub 50 scores in there - anyone looked at a Sicily/Hewett D5/6 team

Agree with your whole summation, currently running Sicily D4/Hewett D5 with McCartin D6 - he is the only rookie priced defender I am happy starting.

Got this set up as well as my preferred three backline rookie team if SDK/Hinge don't get up. Not loving it, the other option is a genuine premo at D4 and Heath Chapman at D5 which I like even less but it could be beneficial in the long run (I still don't entirely rate Sicily and Hewett as keepers). I read a tweet that Hinge is set to play and was training today but SDK is the one I'm not sure about, it's Chris Scott and they've got Henry who you would imagine would be back in their side.

Hinge is worth starting, imo but the durability risk is extreme but I'd say you just have to take on that durability risk if starting two, worst case at least he'd let you loophole Gibcus and SDK if he's injured and then can take whatever there is when he gets hurt.

I really don't want the 5 premium backline, hard to go both of Sicily and Hewett unless you're very optimistic on them so it's spending a lot. I don't even like the Whitfield pick to be honest, just not convinced there is enough upside to justify the terrible durability record.

Really hoping for a left field option to present!
