That has been said for a few years in a row now...hence why Preuss is at club number 3 :sneaky:
That's really only because he's a dumbass and chose to be second-fiddle to the best ruckman in the competition who hardly ever misses a game in his first move away from sitting behind another top 3 ruckman who also hardly ever misses a game.

Exactly - if GWS play well round 1, Leon could decide to keep the same team.
Certainly would be waiting to see he if/is "on the bubble" before rushing him in and his scoring is viable.

From the little I saw last season Flynn himself was fairly impressive in the ruck

I guess starting Dixon/Hayes F3 then gives the option of trading a Brodie , Curnow , McGovern , Xerri if they don't work out , even a D or M with the right DPP setup.

Preuss might not even be on the bubble Round 4.

Be interesting if Xerri is # 1 ruck at North , he could even be a R1/R2 option (good lord Xerri & Preuss could work) 😉

A bit of anti Gibcus sentiment. So should we pick a donut to play and who would be closest to selection with a decent chance to make money?
Sinn?
Wilmot?
If nobody else is named I'll take him anyway.
If Sinn takes until R5 to go on the bubble you downgrade Gibcus from $250k for some spare change.
And maybe he's covered a donut with a 50 in the meantime. Enough for me 🙂

I really dislike that Vlastuin is missing on Gibcus but I'm otherwise sound on him, showed good signs for fantasy in the preseason, was very happy with him but that best 22 question is real.

Hinge is more expensive and really just adds durability to the best 22 question, although has a more natural fantasy profile.

After that you've got SDK who is in every team if picked and McCartin who is in every team and... Smith who is more expensive and has even worse JS and he's proven he wont score.

If another name appears then I'll assess but right now I'm planning for 3 DEF rookies and it's Gibcus vs Hinge for the 3rd slot, could potentially go with both in which case Hinge is the on field preference.

In the event that SDK is not named, then I guess I have to find the cash for whatever there is.

But Gibcus might not make it to $200k. And the donut can be used to loop out some bad scores.

It’s a shame we won’t know if Hinge is playing before Gibcus is locked as I only want one and prefer Hinge. Hopefully the coaches give us a hint early.

God damn this is difficult - is it too much to ask for a M1-3 of Macrae, Steel and Miller - that’s all I’m asking for!!
Not that difficult but going to sacrifice rookie strength to do it.

I'd question if 3 low value picks really justify that in a year where rookie strength already is very questionable. Genuinely looking at paying 170-180k for a rookie I have serious doubts is there in round 3

Well that’s what I’m saying - but on the flip side you have people fitting in strong benches by introducing risk in players like McGovern, Berry, Cripps, Brodie etc on field so it’s certainly not black and white.

I’m not sure there is going to be a lot between a JHF and Stephen’s when you look at the role each of them will be playing

So Smith the only rookie priced player announced tonight.
Unless I'm mistaken, he was highly rated for his debut, but only 21 games in 6 seasons due to injury is a worry.
