I'm reasonably confident that Xerri will score ok but am gonna get a look at Hayes (FWD E) and D Stephens (MID E) and will then switch Ned Long with W Brodie (currently in MIDs) and bench Xerri if either of Hayes or Stephens goes 65+. Can also stick Ward on the ground (using the same switch) and take the punt he beats Xerri but the preference is always to get a look at score(s) first. Having the luxury of looking at two is a bonus this round.

What was said? I can't load it
Me too.

Damn this new world of sign up/subscribe to a thousand things per year.
I'm paraphrasing...

Re playing forward, it's something that Noble canvassed late last year and I've been working on it over the preseason on my forward craft, it's not something I'm shying away from and it's something we've to look at for the team going forward. My ruck split will depend on matchups and match situation, that's fluid.

Re Xerri as a viable cheap SC picks, I'm not going to comment as I don't want to take the blame if it doesn't work out.:ROFLMAO:

Sticking with Xerri. Worst case scenario is he averages like 40, and I would need to downgrade him to Durdin or upgrade him to McGovern before the prices change before round 3.
What I'm torn on are the mid rookie options for the bench. Currently have Stephens, MacDonald and Hough. Do we need to get Owens in? I'm not convinced about his JS, especially since St.Kilda have Billings, Jones and someone else injured?

Me too, undecided. Leaning to Owens mainly because he may play some inside mid. Would Hough be playing Round 1 if the WCEs had less injuries???

I'm not sure if Owens will have good job security, but I'm also not sure that Hough will have good security.

Zak Jones has been granted a leave of absence from the club to focus on his mental health

The injuries are starting to mount at Moorabbin ahead of round one. Hunter Clark and Jack Billings won't be available for at least the first month of the season. Clark will undergo shoulder surgery on Tuesday afternoon after sustaining a high-grade AC sprain against Essendon, ruling the young gun out for up to six weeks. While Billings suffered another setback with his hamstring and will also miss the first four rounds. Veteran ruckman Paddy Ryder is running out of time to prove his fitness ahead of round one as the club manages his Achilles. The 33-year-old hasn't completed any match simulation over the pre-season but the club will give him every chance to join Rowan Marshall in the ruck against Brodie Grundy on the first Friday night of the season. Jarryn Geary has started contact training to deal after a shoulder reconstruction and is set for a return soon, while injury-riddled midfielder Dan Hannebery is a chance to play in the VFL this weekend. - Josh Gabelich

Anyone taking a punt on Sheldrick? JS obviously poor with Warner likely back next week + Lloyd. But I am tempted with his scoring pedigree.

If you pick him I think you have to play him, otherwise I’d rather go safer for my bench spots.

Picking him ahead of Ward or Stephens is a huge pod and could pay off well imo.

How good is Hough's JS though? I mean he could be out even next week for someone like Witherden.

I’m not putting to much attention which rookies I pick, just making sure I have a good spread of rookies prices. So I can switch if I need to. Almost impossible to pick which cheap rookies score the most and JS has so many variables.
