Just watch the Berry incident - around 2:30 left in the game and you can see below it looks like a right shoulder and possible dislocation looking at the way he was holding it getting up - limited vision of him on the bench after the knock but you can see in the rooms afterwards he has no real evident issues with his arm around a player and no ice or support. If it had popped and they got it straight back in that's good and bad - does worry me esecially if he needs to play inside to score as that shoulder will be lucky to see the season out.

Berry definitely doesn't need to play inside to score well.

Didn't look like many centre bounces. Saw him on the wing that was barely used 2nd half. Wing players can be frustrating!
Yep - Robbo was everywhere on one wing, Berry played wide on the other side - Fagan likes having his wings maintaining space so if it's not playing down that side the scoring will tank.

Plus there were some truly shocking turnovers which didn't help him - picking out the chest of the single Port player amongst three Lions was truly a highlight.

ALL-AUSTRALIAN defender Aliir Aliir is booked in for syndesmosis surgery following Port Adelaide's bruising encounter with Brisbane on Saturday night.

The setback could potentially sideline Aliir for eight weeks. Port Adelaide assistant coach Nathan Bassett confirmed the disappointing news on Monday and suggested Sam Skinner could be an option to replace Aliir.

Aliir has been outstanding for us and is difficult to replace but Skinner, who can take an intercept mark in a similar way to Aliir, is a chance to come in, Bassett said.

It was a brutal match for Port with fears that defender Trent McKenzie could also miss a substantial period of time after he was stretchered off with an injured knee.

Bassett confirmed that McKenzie had no major damage to the knee and he was an "outside chance" to play in round two when Port meets Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval.

The scans are good for Trent and he's just hyper-extended the knee, Bassett said.

Young star Xavier Duursma was also hurt in the contest when he was collected by Lions warrior Mitch Robinson.

Robinson's bump was graded as careless conduct, high contact and medium impact and he received a one-match ban.

Duursma left the field with a sore collarbone but he's also a chance to play against the Hawks after the damage was considered minor. Robinson is appealing his suspension.

Bassett said Port veteran Robbie Gray and young gun Connor Rozee would be assessed during the week, but the club was optimistic about their availability.

He said No.12 draft pick Josh Sinn was a chance of making his debut in round two after he was overlooked for the season-opener.

WEST Coast forward Willie Rioli has been offered a one-match ban for rough conduct on Gold Coast midfielder Matt Rowell, compounding the Eagles' early-season injury crisis.

Adelaide captain Rory Sloane is also facing a week on the sidelines after making intentional contact to the eye region of Fremantle wingman Blake Acres in Sunday's clash at Adelaide Oval.

Rioli cannoned into Rowell in the third quarter of the Eagles' loss to the Suns at Optus Stadium, leaving the ground and colliding with the young star who had just got hands to the ball while running with the flight.

Rioli and Rowell in massive collision, Dixon finishes with first goal
Willie Rioli has a big impact on his return game, after this assist and clash with Matt Rowell

Rowell was able to play on after the incident, but changes to the Match Review system in 2022 mean the potential to cause serious injury is given more weight for high bumps.

If the Eagles accept the penalty, Rioli will miss Sunday's clash against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

Sloane was cited by the MRO for an incident in the first quarter, which was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

The midfielder will miss Saturday's clash against Collingwood at the MCG if he accepts the penalty.

The Robinson and Rioli suspensions are ridiculous neither actually hit got the other player high as far as I know. Both are examples of players choosing not to obliterate the vulnerable opponent where a lot would've in past years, or even very recently in the case of Jeremy Cameron.

I saw a few decisions where a player holding their ground and defending their position had frees against because someone else ran into them! Maybe the umpires should be wearing wigs and robes.

The Rioli bump looked terrible to the eye - jumped into Rowell late and front on. Pretty lucky he didn't do serious damage to Rowell. I was surprised it didn't get a free kick during the game.

I’m not sure what you were watching, but Rioli was watching the man not the ball, elected to bump and jumped in the air. Once his body (arse I think) made contact with Rowell’s face he was in trouble. Lucky to just get a week.
