Have enough cash to go:

Bowey/Rayner to Hewitt & Heeney/Butters
Nearly pulled the trigger tonight with the Rayner to Heeney but decided to hold until Round 3.

What do you do if Crisp, for instance, pulls out another sub 70 score? I started with Gaff last year and it feels very similar.
I think it depends on other issues and priorities in our teams. If he does it again and I have no other issues to sort I'd probably just move him to Hall sideways, nothing wrong with that. But cash generation should be high on the priority list, you can have 10 of the best premiums on each line now but if you can't generate cash to upgrade elsewhere you may as well go home now.

Cripps in... but it probably has to come at the expense of a defender (Hewett D5, so there's some options above him).

Problem is, that means bringing a rookie or mid-price def. Maybe Sinn looks amazing

That takes two trades already which means if I want to punt McGovern (and I really do), it might be boost time. Seems like such a waste!

Anybody see a way around that pickle?
This is my exact conundrum as well except swap McGovern for Pruess.

At this stage thinking Pruess to Skinner
Whitfield/Crisp (not sure which yet) to Cripps but leaves a bit of cash leftover

I've ended up going:
Owens to Skinner (on field as well, yikes!)
Crisp to Heeney

Leaves enough bank next week to take Gov up to Cripps (swap the M/F back) and complete the rebalancing.

You suck it up and hope he improves. If he is playing injured, that is a different issue. SC is littered with examples of trading out a premium and then away they go. 2C
Not going to suck it up if he pulls another sub 70, he's not playing injured, just doesn't know his role. I budget 2-3 trades for corrections.

Fair enough, so do I, until the injuries or otherwise hit through the year. Just chucking out an alternative view.

Just realised it's probably the wrong thread, as those were my R2 trades. No idea what is going on hah :ROFLMAO:

I have 1 definite trade as long as Nic Martin is available
Out - McGovern
  • McCartin to Forwards
  • Whitfield to Defence
  • Rachelle to Midfield
  • Nic Martin in Forwards
Gives me a def/fwd and a mid/fwd link

Reminds me alot of Round 4 last year with Daniher, has the scoring ability to resurrect the cash gen aswell, I actually may hold him in all honesty.
Easy flip to Xerri. ? On Gov...Yeah i though he was scored poorly, stupid FA and dropping easy marks are never good. Seemed to be in space a fair bit but just got ignored.

Xerri with a prime RK role will be hard to ignore.

No one would really be looking at trading capable guys like Berry and Gov if it weren't for the opportunities available, as well as a few of us missing guys like Martin and Hayes, thats where the cash is to get to Cripps/Hewett.

Its quite tough to navigate, with extra trades I'd like to make Cripps happen, provided I project no required unforced trades after using 4 in the first two, but the backfire potential of trading Berry could be costly, but fading Cripps just as problematic.
I haven't traded this week and this hits the nail on the head for me. 2 weeks of extra info and I don't have any of Heeney Cripps Hewett and Martin. They all look like good picks this year and I think Heeney projects as the most likely keeper as his role only gets better in my view. I also don't hate my team so I am not going to sell the farm for any of them.

McGovern I think to Martin is an easy call for me and unless Berry goes amazing I think I am happy to use him to get an extra keeper in Heeney into my team and open up DPP with Brodie into the mids.

If Berry tons up I might just do McGovern to Martin and bank the cash for an early upgrade

EDIT: it should be noted that crisp and Whitfield are yet to play at time of this post so the rage could still be real 🤣

I'll be looking to use the 35 trades to upgrade towards a completed side not sideways trade every man and their dog the second they disappoint like everyone else seems to be doing.
Always the wise views Courts.

I never trade premiums sideways, so if Crisp is going because he disappoints, then it needs and only be if someone offers value and can produce similar points. There is a risk Crisp role is different, whilst still attending CBA's. If most midfields are going more aggressive with one (handball) over the top and Crisp is defensive outlet, then maybe he will receive less of the ball. Unfortunately you would like to see him vs a strong side and see if their midfield plays more defensive, than playing Adelaide this week. good

Also will watch if playing back whether Pendles and Daicos are eating up his points. Remember that Crisp has only had one good year.

Last year may be different when I went Neale to Tex, yet we didn't know if he carried injuries. If the trade can make $100-150k in 2-3 weeks then it will be worthwhile.

Irony is maybe it isn't Crisp, as Whitfield will be getting a close look to see if he was carrying an injury last week (thinking OP).

Where I do worry is being trigger happy with several rookies coming through that would have featured in our side if they were named round 1.

Skinner, Sinn, O'D and I dont have Martin. Can see players like Ward getting traded round 4 even if he is getting a game.

Holding fire on a couple of trades hoping for a bit more clarity, one on my watchlist though is Luke McDonald and I'm sure that by playing WCE he is just going to muddy the waters.

Not sold on Heeney, he's not going to kick a handful of snags every week and he still doesn't look to be getting a majority of mid minutes. Got my eyes on Gresham and Duke Nukem, De Goey if he keeps up working with the mids.
