I have had my fair share of rants in what has been a really poor year for me however it nice to have a little ray of sunshine at the end of the year to give you that inner glow.

I did manage to qualify (amazingly) for the grand final in a 10 team league that I have won in both the previous years it has been held. The grand final was against a key rival that has beaten me in every matchup this year across a number of leagues.

At half time of the Ess v Coll game I had the choice of locking in Captain TMitch for 127 and hoping Zerrett and Heppell would outscore Bianco by 93 in the second half. Other option was to give Laird the armband and hope he would score more than 127 by TMitch and contribute to any deficit that was left after the Ess v Coll game. I decided on the latter.

Zerrett and Heppell came up 15 points short so I ultimately needed Laird to score 142 to win the Grand Final. At final siren he was on 143 and after a seemingly interminable wait he was scaled up to 149 to give me a 7 point victory.

The 3-peat is complete.:eek::LOL::love::cool:

Time to bring this one back for 2022. It's not right to see the Rant thread with more than 5 times as many posts as this one, but probably understandable with this game! Figured I'll post here for the first time myself.

I'm usually rubbish at footy tipping, even worse than in SC. This year I am currently ranked inside the top 100 on ESPN Footy Tips out of almost 600,000 entrants! Two from two tips correct, and also picked the margin exactly (26 points) last night. No idea how they split everyone who is on the same score, as it looks like there's almost 1000 still perfect who also tipped the correct margin (surprised me there were so many), but never been anywhere near that ranking before. Figured I'd get in early with this, as I highly doubt a ranking so good lasts much longer.

I'm guessing there's a few Blues fans who might want to post here tonight. It's probably more unusual than my tipping effort that they have reason to celebrate a win so early in a season! :)

I'm already 1-1, even the umpires couldn't get my Tigers pick over the line :LOL:

Just for the happy happy, thanks terrible rookies for pushing me into Hewett!

So happy to see Doch kicking a goal and the boys all get around him.

My eyes got salty from level 4 at the G
Was an early candidate for best moment of the season for mine, genuinely incredible effort. Surviving is already monumental but to bounce back that fast, get back to the team and then play that well, culminating in that moment, just awesome.

Tigers fans can be, let's go with questionable at times, but there were plenty of them that deserve credit for standing with the Blues fans to clap it as well, you just can't not respect what Doch has done there and if you can, go take a long and hard look in a mirror :)

It's ok, that's why we have the RANT thread to balance things out. You may see me over there tmr if the bearded one goes 200+. 🤣
Very tempted to bump that thread myself, with a certain mid rookie having a shocker tonight on field and not trading in English - it's been an underused thread lately and we do need to balance things out. I've had a good start this year so I'll cop my bad luck tonight. Still 8 games to go this round which will turn things around for me. :)
