I think Rachele is far from done, he's a goer but he'll be up and down but should continue to get games. Looks very classy but still finding his feet a little but you can see the coach is keen to develop him as he is getting a little time in the middle during games which tells me they know how good he his and are keen to keep him involved.

Always hard to get the rookie roulette right each week, I actually swapped Martin and Rachele last minute and got it wrong.
Hes a small forward in a side that's rubbish, I outlined this in the pre season when everyone was acting like hed be some aweome cash cow, we are going to have to take the good with the bad and be patient, certainly wouldn't be trading out one of the few rookies that is actually secure in their side though.

What to do with my ruckmen? I have Gawn and Grundy, Hayes on the bench. I also have L. Jackson as f4.

So I am thinking, Do I trade Gawn or Grundy out and and purchase English? I have $119,000 in the bank already so I would gain another $80K plus with that trade.
One other thing, is it time to get on Tom Green?

You could trade one of Gawn /Grundy to Preuss and upgrade somewhere else .

He attended 5 centre bounces on the weekend though? He's really not just a pure small forward and I think he can still spike a good score (y)

Be interesting how the slaughtering of fattened (or malnourished) cash cows goes this year with the trade boosts.

Stephens and Rachele already with tempting prices and Preuss on the horizon (and N Martin for those like me who don't have him yet). But both with high ceiling.

Rachele in particular could be one who rewards patience, but then again how much patience can we have when there are 14 or 15 trades available to us between RD6 and RD10?

To be a bit brutal, I think you hold your rucks from here - if you were tanking one of Gawn/Grundy for English, the time to do that was last week: the price difference now (less than $100k) makes it pretty unattractive.

Ask yourself this: who scores more points from this point forward - Gawn or English?
I think English might average 105 from here (he's not going to play the full season at 120+ for sure) and Gawn 110. In which case burning up a trade to get $80k but lose some points just seems wasteful does it not?

He's a bit more than just a small forward IMO, like I said he's been used in the middle and further up the ground, he's really just another first year player finding his feet. I mean everyone was all over the likes of Sinn, O'Driscoll and Erasmus but the critical thing with Rachele is opportunity.

I'm starting to think about this as well. Plenty of trades to launch with for sure, but who are we actually trading in come R6/7?

Are there some gun second round rookies lurking that are both screaming for selection and showing scoring potential? Maybe Hobbs has a crack at some point.

To use 3 trades to bring in an uber mid in R6 requires two decent downgrade targets to debut this weekend...

I will say this: trades are not as valuable as they used to be, given supply is up (to 35, or +17% on last year, and +75% on the days of 20).

And given the +5 this year are for covid, we’ve already had a team (WCE) decimated by this, and how many SC sides has that really effected? I say submit to the trade frenzy and see where the chips lie at the end of it.

Soligo > Martin via Rachele to mid bench is a no brainer.

It's the 2nd trade that's doing my head in:unsure:

I have Preuss locked on the ruck bench with Grundy and Witts on field and feel that Preuss's points are wasted so I probably need to trade Witts and swing Hayes to R3. I'm just having a bit of trouble deciding who to trade him to with 256k ITB. If any of you gurus out there have a bit of insight then your thoughts will be appreciated.

Options as I see it....
Witts > English via Hayes + 150k ITB
Witts > Docherty via Hayes and SDK + 115k ITB with Paddy to the bench but opening up a Def/Fwd link
Witts > Oliver via Hayes and Rachele with JHF to the mid bench + 8k ITB.

Or just hold for another week?

My team before trades:

Hold Pruess - could make as much as two rookies, albeit at twice the price. Money well spent.

The "obvious" play for me is Marshall to Gawn/Grundy and Draper to Preuss. But seems risky to go early on Preuss. Can also swing Draper to (say) Gresham, and bring English into the ruck division.

The certainty is Draper and Marshall must go, as they will bleed too much cash.
I don’t think buying Gawn and Grundy are obvious buy candidates. Swinging English is. Pruess as standalone perhaps. Witts perhaps.
