To be a bit brutal, I think you hold your rucks from here - if you were tanking one of Gawn/Grundy for English, the time to do that was last week: the price difference now (less than $100k) makes it pretty unattractive.

Ask yourself this: who scores more points from this point forward - Gawn or English?
I think English might average 105 from here (he's not going to play the full season at 120+ for sure) and Gawn 110. In which case burning up a trade to get $80k but lose some points just seems wasteful does it not?
You make a great point. I'll leave it

It's worth noting that Preuss will be up against Freo, Melbourne, and St Kilda in the next 3 weeks. That screams ruck share with Flynn or rotation. The former isn't a huge issue at his price unless you're expecting more 100s, the latter is a big problem if you want him at R2.

Rachelle or D.Stephens > Martin

Ward to D. Shiel ????? $361 - Rd.1 - 101 against Geelong, didn't play Rd 2 Rd.3 - 100 against Melbourne. stepping stone to prem and rookie off field. Is this stupid.

At $200k, 100s on field at R2 are a massive bonus but 70s are totally fine for the price.

Hold Pruess - could make as much as two rookies, albeit at twice the price. Money well spent.
Thanks, but I probably wasn't very clear. Already have Preuss sitting at R3 and reckon his points are wasted there, so looking at trading Witts out, probably to Doc as it shores up my Def and gets my worst Def rookie off the field. English is tempting but hoping that Preuss & Hayes will stick with it for 2 more weeks until Xerri DPP.

Short if you dont have him. He will easily be a top 6 def unless he gets injuryed.

After that id go doch or stewart for POD aspect
Thanks.

Seems the consensus.

My initial gut reaction was that one of Gawn or Grundy likely outscores Short from here, so I should get one of those, leave English forward and then slide him across when I cash in Preuss. There's been a fair bit of negativity around those guys, but they have years of quality behind them, which makes it hard to walk away entirely. When I skipped them to start it was with a view to bringing at least one of them in longer term. The beauty of Marshall to Gawn is that I can convince myself it was worth it because Marshall has lost less $$ than Gawn so far :)

That said, I don't have many who I would consider likely to be top 6 defenders locked away, which is obviously an issue.

He isn't guaranteed to get 100 each wk. He could just as easily throw in a 70 especially if not solo ruck. Witts still making a bit of coin for you as well. Gibcus, Stephens, Ward all a similar price range that most have sitting on the pine generating cash. I'd just park him on the bench for now.

Getting Pruess onfield had to be part of the preseason planning. You picked him at R3 for cover and cash gen. You’re going to get both in spades. I think you purchased well.

What your effectively asking is should I burn a trade for onfield points of BP over a D6 (McCartin?). I think GWS players bring their own special JS risks that are defiantly non zero. So probably not. Especially if you can’t loop Hinge with McCartin. If you can then perhaps.

I dont have confidence Preuss plays 2 games in a row in all honesty, astounded people are happy to run him at R2, trading a dropped Hayes to him would be even more ridiculous, haven't they learnt their lesson at that point?
