Thinking No trades unless Stephens is medisub. If he is I will bring Preuss this week. Leave Martin and Hayes on the bench. Mind you if I wait I will have the choice of Stephens, Rachelle Hayes and Dixon to trade to him next week. How poor could Stephens score if he ends us sub?

Something from 0-20 if he comes in late in the game?

Of course if he comes in early vs. the Roos he could also ton up.

Check out Jack Martin from last round. Played 2 mins as sub for -6.

Still trying to decide who to trade out for Martin out of Hough and Stephens 🧐
If there was any chance Hough could get DPP after round 6 then it would be him I'd keep. Both are valid trade outs to bring Martin in though so don't stress too much over Stephens if that's the way you want to go.

Whichever trade you go with also brings the benefit of setting up another DPP link between MIDS and FWDS as well (via having to switch someone like Rachele to mids to fit Martin in) which you might find handy in coming weeks when we hit upgrade season, even if the one you don't trade out isn't getting a game.

So a few hours out from the Sydney game where are people's thoughts on the Stephens -> Dow trade?
I did it. As a Richmond supporter, I think we will give Dow every opportunity to cement a midfield role.
He looks very efficient by foot and will be playing midfield.
He looks like he will be a similar scorer to Daicos and JHF.
With the extra trades I think it's a good cash grab plus he has dpp status.

With Hayes now dropped, I'm now questioning the value of my Marshall to English trade. Is the assumption that he's only out temporarily (another test of the "talls")? Or is it more permanent?

Thoughts?

(Have already used 5 trades so far (incl. 1 for this week), and likely to bring in Preuss next week).
I can’t see it being a permanent move…bring a rookie it might be a freshen up for Hayes….
I think Ryder will only play 3- 4 games at a time max ( similar to Mummy)….
at worst Hayes can be my floating donut until at least the byes….

Pretty sure Crisp was meant to be Docherty, but he put the wrong end of my trade thought bubble in.
Perhaps not as big of an issue anyway, given how many DPP's we're likely to have. Will make for some interesting strategy though in terms of holding onto players with DEF dpp up to and around the byes I reckon...

Thanks for your thoughts, legend. I feel much more confident in Stephens as a field-able rookie, and don’t expect much from Hough, but it does feel strange to trade out a playing rookie when there’s no guarantee Stephens comes back soon. Will see if he gets named the sub

Stephens has been named in the final VFL side for the game starting in 30 minutes down here at Port Melbourne, just in case anyone was waiting for absolute final confirmation that he wont be the sub.

What time is the next flight ? 😉

Think he must have broken the record for the most posts about a single player in a 24 hour period

Not sure and if you are concerned about the possibility then I would not bother deviating from your original captain and on-field decisions considering you were willing to go in without a loophole.
Still committed to trading Marshall out? I'm hovering over the trade button currently.
