2 questions;
1 why is everyone jumping on Preuss already? He had 1 109 game in a unpredictable side with an unpredictable coach, yes he is rookie priced, yes he has trained under gawn and Goldstein (some of the best rucks of this generation)
But its one game? Hes not even on the bubble yet? AND It seems hes second to Flynn (who was a rookie last year and now basically has no.1 ruck)
Maybe im missing something?

2. Is it possible Gawn could get Dpp??
I think Preuss is first choice ruck ahead of Flynn, he offers more around the ground (although Flynn's tank appears better). He's shown he has the capacity to go large (top score of 140) because he can get the taps but operate as an extra midfielder around the stoppages similar to Grundy (and English so far this year) with tackles, clearances and contested ball.

I think he is being taken a week early because coaches can see that if he's first ruck he can play as an onfield rookie, English/Jackson can be pushed to the forwards (swapped with Hayes/Dixon) and Martin/Durdin/Rachele/Hayes/Dixon can be pushed to the bench. And if he's taken now it frees up trades next week for others on the bubble.

It's a calculated risk. Conventional wisdom says wait until 2 matches have been played but the opportunity for an onfield rookie to score 100s (without compromising your rucks because of the DPP swap I mentioned) plus Preuss being prime age (26) plus plenty of data on how Preuss goes in the real stuff (sixth year in the system) tips the scales towards bringing him in early.

FWIW I haven't brought him in this week.

I agree if he keeps up his form this week, hes almost a definite for me next week (just a matter who leaves my team

To be honest it seems to have more to do with people being desperate to trade out their premiums more than a Preuss thing. Marshall, Grundy, Gawn, OMc, Hickey and Darcy are all some of the more traded out players this week.

Gawn seems very unlikely, his role has been fine, not playing forward significantly, just didn't glove marks in rounds 1 and 2 that he'd normally take.

Surely the vast majority of those premo rucks have been traded to English?

It's forward and mid rookies/midpricers out for Preuss.

Strictly speaking, I went Gawn -> Preuss and McGov -> Trac (after missing English). But when you re-order it as Gawn -> Trac and McGov -> Preuss, it kinda makes more sense. The intent was always to bring English in this week to provide the cover for Preuss but while he's rucking solo and not injured, he's essentially as good as Xerri as an on field rookie option.

Jarrod Witts is in the top 3 teams after R4
His on-field partner in 2 of those is Braydon Preuss.
I'm running with Grundy & Preuss
Grundy has shed $40K - hoping he can do a bit better than what he has produced so far (124-101-95-118)

Reading between the lines it feels like you might want to turn the clock back to 2021 and run with the three "rookie" ruck set up again Herbie?
2021 is gone , just looking at options that hopefully score well for lines this season.

Current rucks are Grundy , Dixon / Hayes.

Preuss possibly is the next best cash cow we will get this season , currently ave 105.5 which is 6th best for a ruck eligible player so far this season.

Suspect he will be the most traded in player next round (if named)

Original idea was Curnow or Xerri to Preuss next round , after Xerri's score won't be him getting traded out.

Grundy could be a option , also gives $$$ to upgrade other players , looking at scores today Rowell's time might already be up (so get Bont , Miller , Oliver , Petracca , Steele for example)

Hayes obviously hasn't played at this level before so who knows how/what he will score , suddenly been given a massive opportunity.

Not sure we have too many other $ 124k priced rookies coming through in the near term with his scoring opportunity.

Also have a eye on Darcy's BE and waiting to see if and when his scores improve.

Missed the boat on English & Witts so just looking at possible opportunities to improve my SC team.

Those other 3 are all making plenty of dollars though.

You need them right up to the point they are maxed out and probably no further ;)
Exactly , the joys of DPP could turn them into anyone if you set your team up correctly.

How many more games do Dixon & Jack Hayes get and then time the upgrades correctly.

Bench rookies not ready to be culled , will people try and upgrade JHF & Rachele + their mid pricers early to try and get a advantage while others wait to maximise profit and downgrade.

Interesting decisions to be made.
