Looking at that WCE team, only 1 true ruck named - Strnadica, with Dixon listed in the emergencies. Unless Harry Edwards is going to be used as the backup ruck (listed in the back pocket) I would not be surprised to see a late change with Dixon coming in if he is declared fit to play tomorrow.
I don't think we'll see a late change for Dixon, we generally don't play games with selection and make late changes that aren't necessary.

They must be comfortable with Strnadica doing the majority of the ruck work, and Edwards providing chopouts as needed.

Concern for Dixon's JS going forward if he's fit enough to be emergency but not selected? Or just one of those quirks of the team sheets?

If Strnadica is their legit 1st choice ruck that might change my thinking about getting Gawn this week. Would make him the most appealing cheap option on the bubble next week and might be nice to have a spot for him ...

If WCE were playing Sunday not Fri pm, he would be playing - it is just a minor niggle in his calf. He is better than Williams I have no doubt. Edwards isn’t great in the ruck so if he isn’t a late in this week, I certainly expect him back in the following week.

The irony is he's been playing defense if the AFL article is any indication!
Based on the outs it looks like that's the probable AFL spot also, Stein been playing down back.

7 out plus Stephens (26) probably not back either

So much for trading the likes of Rachele out before losing coin...
Genuinely annoyed that everyone will now be keeping them, my attempt at uniqueness was going to be holding JHF and Rachele this week expecting a second wind from both, now everyone is being forced into it.

One of those annoying situations where the carnage hasn't really focused anywhere and just been spread nicely across lines so that no one is really being forced or tested by it, basically it's pointless carnage with the only winners really being those without Grundy who don't have a sideways trade thrown in.

More for AF but what kind of role did Coleman have for the lions last week
Playing HB as shown in preseason, played it well and did some nice things. Zorko spent much more time mid/fwd last week than any other round (also moving better fwiw), so would assume that will continue, he's too good to waste down back if he's fit enough to play mid/fwd and you've got Coleman to play back instead who might be a better ball user and is a MUCH better defender than Zorko at this point of his career.

As Shannon said, I also think Dixon is a better option as back-up ruck than Williams. Dixon was a test for this week with that minor calf so he's obviously come pretty close to playing but they seem to have decided to give him another week off just to be sure. I reckon he will be back in next week as the coaches seem to be impressed with what he has brought to the table this season. So have I.

Strnadica was impressive last week, I definitely think he's a better option than Williams as lead ruck... but I wouldn't discount us swapping between Williams & Strnadica every few weeks depending on form.

Yeah my take would be it's Strnadica's to lose, Williams has now had a half dozen chances at the #1 ruck job in his career and looked awful in pretty much all of them. He's agile, he jumps really high but he just doesn't have a clue about football or how to impact the contest on any kind of consistent basis.

Strnadica looked really solid, if he can take the chance I think he should be a pretty good pick next week. If he fails miserably then we get musical rucks at WCE as I don't think Dixon can hold down the #1, albeit he'd probably do better than Williams has.

We'll learn more about Zorko's role this week I think. Prior came in when Lohmann got injured and played HB/wing, which pushed Zorko up the ground.

Crows fans...is Hinge a good chance to come back to the first team soon? I thought he was easily good enough to stay there when he was playing
I thought he should be playing, and would be if he didn't get injured, but coaches might be thinking its match up dependant. Dawson to me has looked a little sluggish this year and they've put behind the ball the last few weeks, which is not what he was recruited for. That is Hinges spot. I've moved him on because he is a sub risk and McCartin out/Hewett a watch to get up from a calf cork.
