This is utterly embarrassing & demoralising… my apologies to all watching it for Fri pm footy

Disgraceful 😔
And the not first time either. The game against Sydney a couple of weeks ago was also on a Friday night.
I really hope we somehow avoid the wooden spoon but doubt there's any team playing worse than us at the moment.

WCE are simply not an AFL standard team currently. To many non AFL players and developing players who are not ready yet. Plus the team has no continuity due to injuries covid etc. Then add a few big losses and you get no confidence. Perfect storm. I would keep playing the developing players to get as much experience into them as possible. That is the only upside to this season.

I think you should have been rebuilding anyway.

Correct. But IMO well paid too much money to keep McGovern, then paid too much money to get Kelly. I think they fell for the trap so many teams do of thinking they can still win a flag when really they should have taken the chance to plan for a smooth transition to the next generation.

Easy to say in hindsight though. I think we do have some good young players and we need to get them ready asap and get them on the park to get experience.

I think Mcgovern was a fair price - cant do much when the AFL changes the rules to discourage what he was best at the year after he was signed.

This is what made me happy as a Richmond supporter that they went to the draft and didn’t try using the picks to chase a Mitchell type player

Drafting kids with your picks instead of trading them for superstars isn’t exciting at the time, but the top up trading path rarely works well
