I'm a bit worried I have a lot of deadwood "on the pine"...

McCartin, Ward, Stephens are all in my squad still, and I have Hobbs.... I should probably move one or two of them before axing Berry, JHF, Rachele etc.

Problem is Def, where either you pay through the nose for a top end premo, or go to e.g. Zorko and co and resign yourself to the fact that you'll not have Stewart etc.

Desperate times for me will probably lead to a boost.

First reaction is McCartin/Caldwell/Foley -> Zorko/Petracca/and go early on Maurice Rookie Jr

Or something like that

Will probably remain aggressive and use a boost to jettison Berry, Dixon and potentially McCartin for Clark, McComb and Parker, which will leave plenty of cash in hand for a Carroll from JHF and NOD to a premo of choice the week after. Looking potentially at Brayshaw who could be $560k which is value for the output he can produce (unless he goes nuclear against North this week and decimates his BE).

@Bomber18 Are we buying Gawn this week?

Very curious to see whether non-owners are looking at this week as the opportunity to grab him for an *ok* price.

Rachele/Dixon/Horne > Curtis/Gawn/McComb is possible with just $1,300 leftover. A sign from above? O'Driz > Clark looks straight forward next week with a defensive upgrade as well.

Xerri - > Curtis
J Hayes - > Tuk Tuk via DPP

$298,900.00 in the Bank

Leaves :-

Rioli , Daicos , Blakey
Martin , Whitfield (?)
Hayes

all to upgrade

Round 9

Curnow/Dixon - > Darcy
Berry & Stephens - > 2 of Carroll/Clark/Hamilton/Rioli if necessary
Activate a boost and use the $298k to upgrade Berry this week. No downside.

Guess you prioritised Oliver like me? I think my team above looks strong enough even after breaking the bank for Max. If we don't grab this week we might not be able to get him until very late season.
I already had Oliver, grabbed Cripps and thought SHayes onfield was the better option……

Agree on Gawn but it’s more SHayes looking worse than expected!

No, I think I'll do what I've done the last few years.

I'll wait until he hits peak price before I bring him in, then bench him the following week after he's injured in the 1st Q that he plays in my side.

Nope, will try to get an advantage by getting Strnadica at R3 and making $200k around his bye. Will get Mills or Oliver this week which gets Berry off field.

I know as soon as I trade Gawn back in he'll be out Covid HS Protocol

Hayes score was a liability this round, but looking at the numbers and score from that game in Cairns I'm not sure we can take too much out of it.
I actually think Hayes' 94 against a weak West Coast midfield was the exception rather than the rule. He is basically a pure tap ruck that does minimal around the ground, so i expect he will still score 50-80 most weeks like most of our other rookies.
