At the moment, I envision my forward line to be my last line upgraded due to the quality of the rookies/midpricers I currently have on field.

I already have Dunkley, Parker, Butters and Coniglio who I would consider keepers. I plan on adding English as an obvious top 6, and JDG who should present outstanding value two weeks from now.

That would round out my 6 with the most notable omissions being Taranto and Heeney. If luxury trades allow, one or both of Cogs and Butters could become one or both of those guys.
And if the Bont gets DPP ?

It would be an easy decision to cut Cogs (or maybe Butters) to Bont in that case. I don't think he will though after playing 74% as a mid last game. He was almost on track until then :( I guess it takes some fun out of the game when a player becomes an auto-selection like that though.

Bont , Dunkley , English , Heeney , Parker may as well do away with 5 of the forward positions and tell us all just to pick one.

Be interesting to see if people can afford luxury trades of Brodie , Butters , Cogs , Gresham etc

At the start of the season, you would have thought so for certain, but with 35 trades most coaches have gone a bit free willy so that shall be interesting :ROFLMAO:

Despite Heeney's incredible start to the season, I'm still not a believer. I don't know what he'd have to do to convince me. Burn man of the highest order.

I Heeney:
2022= 7th for Total Tackles and 8th for Tackles per game

2017-2019: 32/61 matches with 5 or more tackles
2020-2021: 0/26 matches with 5 or more tackles
2022: 6/7 matches with 5 or more tackles

I am sure if he wins a Brownlow people will still have their doubts about him

Heeney only averages 99 over last 3 and has needed a pretty strong ratio to get there in several games now.

Still a solid enough target but given his durability record, Parker, Bont (likely), Libba (if role maintained) and then the likes of Rozee, Butters, Martin, Taranto, Moore, Cameron, Duncan, Hawkins and Treloar on top of the fact that most probably have somewhere in the 5-7 keeper range already in their teams and he's hardly screaming a must have just now at top dollar.

Hardest decision I'm facing right now with the forwards is whether to target a Parker type as a genuine F2 pick given I've already got 7 premium forwards, albeit 5 of them are in that F4-6 range. I think given how few upgrades I need it's worth it (he can play M8 for now anyway) but it's a genuine conundrum. Especially given that if Bont does get it, he'd be a must have which would mean another trade needed for small gains.

Heeney is Heeney, he looks like he'll kick two goals a game, tackle a lot and take a few marks around the ground. He will have days where he takes over and go 130+ to cancel out some of the poor scores. One score below 80 which he scored 0.3
As an owner, I hope you are right. One thing that concerns me about Heeney is that with one exception, his disposal count has declined every game this year. His tackles appear to be trending down (from historically high levels), and his goalkicking accuracy has been unusually good. He’ll need to get more of the ball or resume tackling more to meet expectations.

Toying with the idea of getting D Cameron in as a F6.
Looks to be scoring well with Grundy out and a chance to pick up DPP if he keeps the Ruck role.
Any obvious reason not to take him I'm missing?
I've looked at him too but getting him in pushes Martin to M8 and Clark to the bench. IMO Clark will score just as well, make more cash and is 230k cheaper, that cash has already been used in upgrading NOD > Dawson. If he suits your team then I can't see a reason to not get him in as a stopgap and flick him in rnd 14

Yup bought him last week. 3/4 career games as primary ruck over 100. Genuine forward premo option, cash gen and points. Just save a trade because Grundy will be back around sc finals time.

Scrolling through the forward options I was surprised to see Stengle at 402.5k.

Has done very well to make $155k to date.

Agree would have been a reasonable starting pick and I did look at him.

IIRC he had a great first game, but shocking 2nd game which sort of ruled him out as per above, lol. Would have been a pretty solid pick if you were able to ignore or did not see his second game which sort of ruled out him on the bubble.

I drafted him in 2 keeper leagues and a single season league and he has been a very good pick so far, so was well and truely on my radar for SC.
