103 - the other Magic SC number:geek:

In a couple of posts at the start of the season I mentioned that the aggregate score for SC winners has been based on a weekly, per player score of 103 points - ie each & every player in the winner's team averages 103 pts across the season.
@Wheedus did the figure-work from 2012 - 2020

I just ran the numbers for 2022 after round 9 - the leader is on 21,499
Allowing 125 as a captain's bonus, the remaining per player average is - would you believe - 102.9

You'd think that scoring might improve as the season progresses, so maybe the average will eventually nudge over 103.
This year‘s scores are off the chart. With the expected ”completed” team score usually pushing 2,400, this year could well see C-Money‘s 2014 record toppled.

The leader after round 9 this year is sitting on 21,499. By way of comparison, the leader (not the eventual winner) at round 9 in previous years was as follows:

2021 - 20,649
2019 - 20,674
2018 - 20,967

Without looking at the numbers in detail, it feels like the main factors this year have been some bigger scores concentrated in the MIDs premos and a lot more decent and consistent scoring from viable on field rookies.

Only 7? That is not much;). But was this ankle injury common knowledge? Had it all season apparently. If they kept it quiet not sure what advantage they got out of it.
They keep it quiet so the opposition don’t target it.

Was obvious there was something wrong like Neale last year - I just can’t believe how many people decided to hold. Will be a 2023 bargain (y)

While hamilton being dropped is a nice W for a non-owner like me, I think the biggest W from the teamsheets is actually having that loophole option in Connor MacDonald and also having him play on Sunday. Allows me to VC Cripps and captain either Clarry, Macrae or Neale. Will talk about some other Ws including Whitfield not playing this week, English not playing this week and Xerri coming back which will def impact Goldy owners.

You could also add that the boosts have assisted in upgrading rookies quicker into premiums which has increased overall scoring.
