I will never understand why they count a long kick to a contest that is marked by the opposition as a clanger. You could argue that it should be a clanger to the teammate in the contest that didn't do their job.
Are you sure that's the case? I thought a long kick to a contest if not marked by a team mate was just an ineffective kick which scores zero, not a clanger. I thought a clanger was an obvious turnover or kicking out on the full or giving away a free.
