Guess so.
I focused on the early DGRs too but thought it would be handy to have a money-maker from MR/SS as they have the next DGR and no byes between.
As I should be able to have 11/11/6 for the DGRs, having one non-DGR player isn't an issue.
[Mind you, that's using 8 trades over the next two rounds.]
I have gone 4 PS to start on the bench so will find out over the next few rounds whether that's the correct decision.

Couldn't decide between Rashid , Boult , Siddle , Green, Farooqi & Zampa onfield (dropped Boult in the end)

Did the Mujeeb/Hosein exercise but was probably only fielding them in Round 4 before their DGR , although could loop a MR in Round 3 & 4.

Interesting decision for people now is he will be over $ 150k after Round 2 , so do they trade him in for Round 2 or wait ?

Might need a boost in Round 2 myself , was always going to use one in Round 3.

In all honesty half the people playing wouldn't have a clue who is is.

I guess focusing on the early fixtures not many would have MR/SS on their radar.
Not sure why they aren’t on peoples radar given they each have the best early fixture apart from Thunder. No early bye and both have a double in first 5 rounds giving them 6 games in 5 rounds, which almost puts them on a par with the Thunder who have the same, but admittedly two doubles gives them a slight edge.

I swapped out D'Arcy Short / Bazley for Siddle ...

- not sure how that is going to end up ...

How many people look at future rounds though when they just select their starting team ? or planning trades ?

Once a round closes , the majority probably just check their team and see next rounds fixtures and then just do 3 trades without much thinking.

Probably all will finish higher than me , so maybe that's the way to approach it , less thinking the better 😀

Hard to start too many of those high priced MR/SS though if people are starting the likes of Rashid , Sams & Short etc

Interesting one already is if Abbott goes big again next round , do people change plans to get him in early although on the other side of the coin guys like Philippe & K Richardson will drop in price as well.

I think they are on peoples radar... just when it comes down to it, 3 teams on DGW is too hard to pass up.

Had Hosein in my side in many drafts, and considered many Sixers and Gades for this reason.

And only simple reason made me miss them all.

Rain.

If we knew they’d get both games, I’d happily have sacrificed a thunder and started Hosein. Make up the double on the pack by having an extra dgw in round 5. But, that plan can be completely ruined when the heavens open at the wrong time. This week was clear, so had to think short term.

Will be some interesting decisions to make with trades, especially for those that haven't carried any Scorchers through.
It won’t be easy, but we won’t know what we should have done until our first “reset” at the end of R5.

At the moment it is going heavy with scorchers v fading scorchers v something in between.

Those who go heavier with scorchers are likely to be holding off those who go heavier with Heat, Sixers or Renegades the following rounds. The only real advantage to a Scorchers play is knowing their team for game 1 of R2 compared to taking a punt on the other 3 teams and associated injury risk.

Is it not possible to go heavy with the Scorchers without compromising the later DGRs?
e.g. I'm aiming to have 5 Scorchers rnd.2, 5/6 Heat rnd.3, 9/10 MR/SS rnd.5.
The Heat/MR/SS mix depends a lot on how I assess the Heat players. How many will outscore the better SGR players even with two games?

I mean those numbers would be pretty difficult unless you’re planning on using all of the boosts

I have just mapped out where i want to be. Players to be decided of course.

R2 - 11 X DGR
R3 - 4 X DGR
R5 - 8 X DGR
R8 - 8 X DGR
R9 - 11 X DGR
R12 - 8 X DGR
R13 - 6 X DGR

I can’t see how you get those numbers unless you went lighter on R1 DGR’s or you are planning on going hard early with you boosts.

I might have missed it, but did anyone provide a breakdown on the batting/fielding points split from the last two matches? Gut instinct is the batting side did a lot better than in game 1.

I know @Diabolical has provided these previously for the WC, and I could probably work it out myself, but if anyone had the info handy, it'd really help me work out who to target in Rd 2, batters or bowlers.

Thanks.

I reckon it would be a different answer is ST didn't also have a DGR at the same time, but I actually don't see him as being necessary. Most have 5-6 ST players from this round, and when you then add an Inglis/Bancroft type, and the Agar/Tye/Richo triple.. you really only have 1 or max 2 on field spots left. There are so many better options for those spots, even on a SGR over someone like Hardie.. Short/Khan or even a Mujeeb type if you have someone like him. Hardie down to Connelly could also be the difference between keeping Short/Khan or needing their cash too.
Thanks for your thoughts @Chumpion @Shaunpro1. I meant to reply yesterday but got caught up.

I have currently downgraded Hardie to looper Connolly, which looks like it could help me retain Short 🤞

Going to be interesting next round. Feel those that have banked 2-3 Scorchers might get a leg up as they can bring in a Naveed or Hosein type. They don’t have a double for another 4 rounds, but by then Naveed will probably be about 120k and Hosein could be up at about 160k. Could some even boost and grab both?

I can pull those together shortly
