Sicily - Consistency with 6 scores under the ton 87-98, the rest were 104+ (7 were 122 or more)
Docherty - 8 scores above 122 as a defender and his last two scores were 121 and 138 as a high attendance CBA mid.
I'll keep an eye on him in the preseason games as he is training to be a midfielder with Carlton not having Walsh,Hewett and Kennedy there atm.
Dale - Capable of 105. Hopefully no kick ins for Daniel in his new midfield role. Rounds 17-19 and 21/22 Treloar had 16 kick ins (DFSAus source)
Bowes - Preseason watch and expendable if a Goater looks good in the preseason games.
Ginbey/Mckenna - Hopefully best 22 and the bench are just place holders.

Neale - Worthy VC/C and could get better if Dunkley is the feeder.
Miller - VC/C and just the gun I enjoy the most. Hopefully King makes him more effective going forward.
Bontempelli - High average with niggles and could have a better role.
Green - Hopefully he can cash in as a pure midfielder.
Hopper - Underpriced for what he can produce. Hopefully the role is good enough in different system with history of lower scoring.
Ashcroft - Role probably wont be great early but he is capable of showing up their third and fourth rotated mid. Can see a great month of spiking.
Phillips - Junior pedigree and could be rotating mid of their best 22.

Placeholders - Can be improved with the expendables (Bowes, Thomas, Allen)

Grundy - Could be underpriced or fairly priced pending role. Darcy would be my ideal R1.
Marshall - Could be the improver with a hold on his teams R1.
Loop

Dunkley - #1
Rozee
- Has shown a high ceiling (3x 153+) hopefully his o***eason has improved his tank and can improve his mid output.
Taranto - Could have the role and hopefully some real development under Hardwick.
Thomas - Role could be great and in my opinion his disposal could be elite with the room at halfback. Offield has been a problem.
(Flanders is a contender for this spot)
Allen - Best 22 and can spike
McLean - Underpriced and should be the best cashcow.

Agree with downgrading Richards to a rookie like Coffield or someone else and upgrading Worpel. Part of that is I think he’s too high risk for his price, but plenty to to play out there.

Don’t mind CMac pick because someone needs to score mid pts at the Hawks and he has passed the eye test way better than Worpel has recently. Let’s see if he gets a good role because he looked impressive in the small moments he had a go last year.

Flanders I think will improve if he’s getting mid time but if he’s only getting like 40% inside mid and playing wing/HF the rest I wonder what he’ll average because he looked poor in a wing/HF role last year. Suns run a pretty tight mid rotation. Absolutely dominated VFL playing midfield last year but form failed to really translate to a non-midfield role in the AFL

Like the rest of the side but those are queries

FWIW sub risk is a bit overblown, we already had a sub risk last year with players going on and teams are unlikely to sub out a player very early for tactical reasons most of the time in case of injury. We’ll probably cop that at some stage but doubt it will happen a significant numbers of times
Problem for me is I don't like any cheap defenders. Going Richards down and Worpel up will reduce the risk profile of my team, but Coffield has already done a hamstring and is coming off an ACL, so I'll need some convincing in the preseason. Ginbey might be okay but hes still young and not sure if he plays round 1.

That’s fair I think atm we will have enough but too early too tell, Worpel could still be great definitely has the talent somewhere in him, so how he goes in preseason is very important. He was just so bad last year it’s not out of the question that other Hawks players go ahead of him in the midfield. Not my type of pick for now but can’t hate it too much.

I do think 3-4 guys around 250-350K odd should be the max, more than that feels like too much risk. You got 4 atm which is cool, some of my teams have had 3 and I probably don’t go more than that

Was getting a bit confused, changing my team around all the time, so cleared and started again.

First added players I wanted.
Then filled with most popular.

Ended up with this. Heavy mids, light forward and defence. Yeo, Fyfe, Thomas queries.

Coffield's hamstring issue was pretty minor, he some some kind of surgery on it but was only delaying him a couple of weeks.

The waiting game.
Would love a Rookie ruck to pop up but more likely I'll shift Cameron to r2 and see who I can snag at f3.
Good chance my F3 may be a hawk. Just need to see who's starting in the guts there. May try to land worpal via dpp or something.

Think I've got all the higher priced rookies and discounted fwd players fielded at this stage. Will be a process of elimination to see who plays. Any that dont will free up coin to help my f3 options.

It was Yeo v Fyfe as I didn't want both due to injury history. Went Yeo as there's more sub 300k option in the fwd line.

LDU still and option instead of Titch. Gone with Titch for now. Nagging thought that LDU is comming into his prime and titch is in decline...

That midfield is scary. If Mitchell, Green and Hoper all end up sub 100, you're in a world of pain.
I like all the expensive rookies, gives a lot of leeway for last minute changes.

Hopper doesn't really need to go over 100, 30 odd point increase on his 2022 average will be 95 (which he has surpassed before) and he'll be well on the way to generating more than enough cash. Fills a need in Richmond's midfield so no real worries about role or positional changes (unlike Sheed for example).

There is no reason to think that Green will average less than last season considering he'll be GWS' primary inside midfielder now and has the attributes in becoming a SC midfield premium. If he can raise his disposal count from just under 25 by 3 or 4 or so per game and become a more consistent tackler (a more consistent inside role will allow for this) , he's borderline top 8.

Early draft, everyone is a watch at this time of year. The high priced rookies and discounted players are subject to change. LDU and Warner seemed to come into their own at the end of the year but could really be Mitchell, Green etc.
If the Saints play Marshall as a solo ruck like it seems they are angling towards, Marshall is a lock. I’m 50/50 on English v. Grundy at the moment. The forward line is very difficult with the sheer number of discounted players. Picking the good ones or having the flexibility to jump sideways quickly will differentiate a lot of teams.
Would like to bring Yeo in but I still don’t trust his injury history.

Happy New Year!

My first take of 2023.

I believe Rozee and LDU can take the next step.

Rookies up in the air right now with Sinn and Chesser pushing for selection in round 1 after delayed preseasons. But don’t write them off yet. 46C1DB73-6021-4119-921A-B69702232F41.jpeg FCFA87D8-7211-4D55-8570-C71B1DFC9CD3.jpeg

My rookie balter is Darcy Jones who I think he is a chance for round 1 playing forward.
#Caleb Daniel mark 2.0

Looking forward too the pre season games to see who pops up.

Yeah, Hopper's definitely the least risk of the 3 due to his price. The other 2 need to go 110+ to be worth it. But there is a real risk of being stuck with 3 M8s though.

Guns & Rook 1.0

No worries about those midpricers. Wont start this team as i definately want Yeo and Hooper RD1. These (2) are the midpricers players i am most confident in.

But this team makes me confident.

No need to stress if a mid pricer gets injured round 2 and you have to find a replacment you dont really want or downgrade to a Rookie.

Preseason Day 1 - First draft

Just thought I would get something down on paper to come back to later and see how it's evolved.

I've read snippets of players seemingly going well on the track.

I'm sure when I realise Sam Draper is not a thing then the whole dynamic will change:ROFLMAO:
