Dimma deserves coach of the year if he manages to fix Taranto's disposal

If he managed to do Hopper also just stick him in the HOF now (he's going in anyway but that would be his greatest achievement!).

I expect those problems will probably still be there at the Tigers, I'd be shocked if he's not the guy rotating with Bolton/Martin when they want them in the midfield for bursts. I think he improves just by being fit and he'll get more midfield minutes but I'd be surprised if he's got a pure midfield role. He can still score though, he's not a bad forward at all and still keeps it ticking over and being in a stronger side definitely doesn't hurt this aspect either.

He's in my side at the moment so I think he's a very good pick. I will say I think he's 4th on my forward list though behind Rozee, Dunkley and Coniglio but cash will be the big question.
Hell come down to whether or not I feel like I need to spend the cash elsewhere, to pick 4 premium forwards and 4 gun mids the defence has to be pretty weak, at the moment I'm happy to do it but alot can change from here.

Whats the thoughts on ziebell at 350k. As a forward you wouldn’t even look at his name, they are saying his going to be a permanent defender this year and he scored 107 in 2021 with that role…
Think you have to watch Norths pre season games pretty closely, if Cunnington is a mid and Ziebell is playing half back theres going to be some decisions to make.

With Fyfe, is Nick Blakey 2022 a fair comparison for what we expect from him this year in scoring terms?
I'm picking him to be Fyfe. Should be able to do similar to Dustin Martin in the same role which was ~95-100. I think Heeney is the better comparison, Heeney a better forward but Fyfe should have a better role. There will be a lot F50 stoppages and he'll be the primary target for the Darcy and Jackson mismatches. Freo are going to have the better #1 ruck and #2 ruck against about 14 sides and will have the better #2 against 17. That's a very strong source of points for Fyfe.

Fyfe's issue is 95% durability related, can he actually put a season together or can he at least get to somewhere near the byes before he breaks? I'm not overly phased by his scoring, he was a good scoring forward his first two seasons and he's a vastly improved player on that in a better side. If Fyfe played 23 games (god this takes some getting used to typing) I'd be very surprised if he doesn't score in the mid 90s and produce a solid F6 play, sadly I'd also be very surprised if he played 23 games and that's the gauntlet that's being run.

Ziebell is definitely an option, need to see how they're playing and lining up. Most important is where is Hall playing because he had a significant negative impact on Ziebell. He averaged 127 in the 6 games before Hall and 100 in the 15 after Hall. Still really good but they've also got McDonald and McKay (stealing intercept work potentially) that probably get in the way a bit. 5 points to each of them and we're down to 90.

Will definitely be watching him though. Cunnington also a must watch, I do expect they start phasing him out though so may not be relevant with LDU and Simpkin there but then it comes down to whether they go the Phillips, Powell and other kids path or if they go the best player in Cunnington. Will be an interesting team to watch, unlike most sides I think their best 22 is WIDE open right now and Clarko could go in several directions.

Definitely take a 90-95 ave from ziebell Decent scores each week and a stepping stone to a fwd premo. If he is taking kick ins in his practice match i will take a punt on him.

The problem with Ziebell is that 95 is basically the bare minimum at his starting point, so very boom or bust given how badly he scores if they throw him forward and the unlikeliness that he'd play anywhere else if he did move out of the backline again.

I do think he's worth watching closely though as no reason he can't score 95+, I just want to feel pretty strongly about it. To be fair, no real difference to Fyfe here.

Take them both at M4 and M5, get a 95+ from them would be a real POD.

Actually warming to the idea of a Dunkley/Cogs/Rozee/Taranto forward line. The last 3 share the round 15 bye so my thinking is if one doesn’t look up to scratch early I can sideways them as part of any corrections, and otherwise I can trade the worst performing/worst run home one to someone who has had their bye. Yeah we could likely get some DPP guys, but I have 2 spaces free to bring either them in or someone who looks must have. They feel safe to at least hold up as 4/6 forward spots and that feels like a line I’m nervous about rookies.

Minimises the risk of fading the wrong 1 of the 4 too. Just feels like prioritising 3 spaces in the forward line for DPP changes that we may not get is a lot of real estate that has to be filled by non premiums.

Think this is likely the way I'll end up, dont really trust the mid pricers or rookies to hold the fort, combination of poor roles and terrible durability, could leave yourself having to boost your way out of trouble pretty quickly in the early rounds.

Fyfe at F5, McLean F6. Makes me very thin down back, Mids have a 4-2-2 structure so I have a straightforward task of upgrading there, Def currently a 1-2-3 structure, so 5:eek: upgrades required.

Yeah it does mean you need to go light down back but early days that seems the play. Should have the rookies and value picks to make it work. Big issue is if you need to correct to shore up the backline but I don’t think that’s the biggest problem with 36 trades and boosts.
I think I can make a 1/4/2/4 structure work alongside some of the value picks like Yeo, Hopper etc, which feels good based on the info we have to date. Just gotta see how it all unfolds from here!

Yep, running with 11 premos, 5 MP's (Yeo, Bowes? Hopper, Sheed? Fyfe) 6 rookies (including McLean here) of those rookie priced players only one hasn't debuted yet (Ashcroft)

11 with 4 mid pricers is probably what I'll have, leaves the rookies on field as Coffield,Goater,McKenna,Ashcroft,Mackenzie,McLean and Bruce, expect that will be fine with the likes of Wilmot,Phillips,Berry,Johnson also on the bench.

Worst case scenario you've got it wrong and you boost and restructure which is pretty much what I ended up doing last year its not the end of the world.

I'm genuinely looking at a 0-1-5 structure down back with Yeo at D1. Would need some pretty strong certainty in the bench rookies and perhaps even a D/M option in the mids but if they're there, I'm liking it. The idea of a Daicos type at D1 is also definitely in play. Expect that forward tags will be fairly common this year which means premium defenders could definitely be available cheap this year.

Brett Daniels:
Price: $191,300

2018: 50.4 from 7
2019: 64 from 22
2020: 66.4 from 16
2021: 57.9 from 13 (Subbed off on scores of 22 and 40)
So hard to judge with the new coach. Cameron definitely wanted him playing midfield and was progressing there, whole season out will see how he comes back and where he's playing. 65 average would be a pass mark, so had two seasons at the right level.

Missing a whole season with persistent hamstring issues is a pretty major red flag though, going to need to get 8 rounds out of him.
