I suggest you need to understand what the Thyroid problem that has been reported today entails before locking him in. Might be minor, in which case lock him in. But if it's overactive there may be cause for second thoughts.
Yeah definitely not interested now
Needed a Flawless pre season
Just going off the moreiras magic theory of value at price seeing he’s a 90’s guy priced at 390k

But yeah I’ll look elsewhere now :) cheers

He's priced at 71 so has to go at keeper range to get that 30 PPG benefit. That being said, he could get off to flyer like 2021 where he averaged something like 106 over the 1st 9 games, still a watch for me even with the thyroid issue.

Anyone heard any whispers about Braeden Campbell?
Currently considering a Sicily - Daicos - Yeo - Bowes - Campbell - Rookies set up.
As it allows for 4 uber premos in the mids and rolling with my preferred fwd structure.
Is he even best 22? If I'm going to punt on dodgy JS I dont want to be paying almost 300k for it.

Feels a pretty good sub with his ability to slot in anywhere also.

Thyroid problems can be debilitating and he has had these before, he is not going to be having a flawless preseason

More injuries could still come ( :( ) but I expect our back 7 will be:

Newman Weitering Gov
Saad Young Doc
(Marchbank on the bench)

So even if Doc plays mids (for some early rounds), there's only really one spot free for a few rounds imo. Boyd would have that role but he's out (probably for the season) so I could see Cowan/Kemp/Plowman playing early.

I think if we get to Round 1 with a fit Hewett/Cripps/Cerra/Kennedy, it will just be that business as usual back 7 (very little mid time for Doc)

I did see something on Twitter that Saad is a big SC benificary when Williams is out, he'd probably be the one to benefit the most, apart from if we get 2-3 early games from Cowan/Kemp/Plowman/Markov etc.

Someone should put this article from the last 4 years into a single post for Clark.

I rate him but can't trust the body and has just never been able to put it together.

Interesting price point though.

I hope he can establish as best 22 but no idea what role he'll fill so it's a wide pass.

He's far too talented to not be playing AFL at this point but still hard to see where he fits into our mix. Sub definitely will hit him a few times I imagine unless he goes huge this year.

Yeah he's just been very unlucky with injuries, I don't think I'd start him unless I've seen him play a full season. (fingers crossed for him)

Nick Coffield:
Price: $208,800

2018: 52.7 from 10
2019: 57 from 8
2020: 79.4 from 16
2021: 63.2 from 16

5 scores of 100+ in 2020 and 2021. 12/32 80+ in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Coffield was basically their main interceptor in 2020 if he builds up his fitness base and has that role again hes a pretty easy pick, quite a few Saints fans have said hes only just rejoined full training though which is a bit of a concern.

I don't think Coffield is walk up best 22, especially coming off a knee/hammy. Reckon we will see him find some form in the VFL before coming in. Back 6 would look something like this I'd say
Paton, Howard, Wilkie,
Webster, Battle, Sinclair/Clark

Interdasting 🤔 I currently have Doc on the basis of more mid time with Walsh out, but perhaps I should be thinking Saad instead ( or possibly both). Do you have any thoughts on that ?

There's a real glut of experienced players with reasonable prospects in that 160-220k bracket.
Guess you buy a little more JS, potentially higher ceiling, at the cost of being able to start one to two fewer premos, depending on how many make it to the line and appeal.
