Mmm ... I need to start recruiting for this format ...

Usual drill for these leagues .... "no ghost ships" is the mantra ...

- SCS members will always be given preference over any other teams ... if I need to split hairs and don't recognise any team names ...

- yes I do recognise quite a lot of team names from non SCS members in RDT formats so don't let that discourage you from joining for now ...

Yeah I really enjoy RDT as well.

Losing the AFL's support as it's preferred game back in 2014 saw so many abandon the game unfortunately.

In 2013... There was 237,798 teams playing Real Dream Team then in 2014 after Fan Hub got the offical contract... it dropped to just 37,359 players for RDT. Been steadily dropping each year to the point where only 8,658 teams where entered last season.
That's a shame, hopefully more will get into it going forward, I'm playing again for the first time in quite a few years, it seems easy to navigate and on the bright side, there's a much better chance of doing well in that one :)

Thanks for all those that have joined the leagues ...

Of those that I've posted two are now full and one has two spots left:

https://sportsdeck.com/afl/dreamteam/?action=join-league&code=292956

I actually forgot that I have another league so anyone is welcome to join this one as well ...

- initial thoughts were to delete it but I won't (was just my bad oversight not including it here) ....
- 10 spots left and some very good players in it ... hopefully we can fill it as well .. still got 3 weeks to go ...

It's a shame they do such a terrible job promoting it.

I do hope that perhaps next year they'll swoop on UltimateFooty being bought out by AFL Fantasy given how horrible their version is, as I can see there being a huge market for draft leagues next year when everyone who does them has to experience the interface and settings limitations of AFL Fantasy.

Be great for the OG format to make a comeback.

I haven't done my AFL Fantasy team yet .... lol

- tomorrow nights challenge and I'm dreading working through that interface ...
- was going to finally give up on it this year but have been dragged back in yet again ... glutton for punishment !!

I do still really like the RDT interface out of the DT formats ... simple to navigate, easy to research players on, understandable player prices etc ...

- I guess it just doesn't have the prize money to attract enough participants these days ...

RDT will always be on par with Supercoach to me. It's scoring ,although basic ,is much more transparent than Supercoach. We need a healthy RDT.

I wont bother for weeks. Unfortunately have a mates league in it and now have to do my keeper leagues through it also, I don't think I'll bother with the keeper leagues next year unless they've changed the interface considerably and do a much better job of integrating the UF ruleset capabilities into it.

The prizes are good though and I do use it to satiate my "stupid picks" need. Sadly I've done better in it than SC the past couple of years

In a weird way it's the most fun of the comps because I'll pick a team on Tuesday before round one, without any group think influence or any seriousness and then I'll just make two random trades before the first game and lock it out. Basically I go old school on it and don't care at all which means more risks which are more fun when they work.

I enjoy the simplicity of RDT, I do hate the stupid way the prices have gone on it, makes it so hard to just jump in and do a team when you've got to try and work out magic numbers and all that because the prices are all so inflated compared to SC, much preferred when they were ball park the same and, generally, slightly less than SC. Might just be my brain or my general lack of focus on it but that throws me out every season.

Gonna have my first crack at this, haven't played DT since I was 15 and never played fantasy before. Sort of know which types of players score better relative to SC and know some historical scores from my SC research.

Gonna pick some mids I'm not picking in SC, Macrae because he's more suited to this than Bont, JKelly because I'm too emotionally scarred to pick him again in SC but think his CBA's go up and he's more suited to the format, Titch because he's more suited to the format over Tom Green. Witts much better value on here than in SC. Martin because he's a fave of mine.
