Dogs supporter so watching the intraclub with interest. Few Q1 things to note:

- A defense vs A forwards, mid is even balance across both of Macrae, Bont, Libba, Baz, West, Treloar, Caleb as main guys. West looks really good. Bont/Macrae cruising around accumulating

- Bruce playing FB back for B and getting torched by Buku, can cross him off as a starting option
- A forwardline has all of Darcy, Naughton, Lobb & JUH. Darcy done some really nice things. Jones has shut down Lobb.
- Caleb predominately mid, bit of HB, id say 70/30 split.
- Richards. That is all.
- Crozier playing HB for A defense. 219k and has had a fair bit of it early. One to monitor.
-English getting involved a heap around the ground
-McLean looks parked deep forward
- Arthur Jones forward for A team (123k)

Any qs happy to answer throughout the game
Cheers, interested to hear your thought on how Jones went after the game, was he scoring his own points or just locking down on Lobb.

“Tom Hickey won’t play after suffering a calf injury in training last week. We’ll see how he progresses over the next couple of weeks but at this stage we expect him to be unavailable for at least the first few weeks of the season.
“Peter Ladhams is also managing some tendonitis following last week’s internal match simulation so will miss this week and we’ll reassess him for next week.
Squads confirmed to face Brisbane Lions (sydneyswans.com.au)
Applying the Hickey Principle of Recovery (HPR) he will be back Rd 2. Nothing to see here folks, move on please. A calf can linger but it is 3 weeks before Rd 1 so under HPR that is plenty of time. Missing "part of the season" has a much more serious inference ie 5 or 6 weeks min for mine.

The vibe I get from reading various reports around the traps on N Daicos is that his mid play was not that bad but could improve. However they missed his drive off half back and so from a team and structure perspective it was better he went to half back and helped set up plays going into the forward line.

Travis Boak underwent tests on Friday night which confirmed no fracture but extensive bruising around his ribs and lung area.

He will continue to be assessed ahead of the club's final pre-season game against Fremantle on Thursday.

Thanks for the updates.

I’ve had Richards in and out. Would you mind elaborating slightly? Particularly keen to hear whether he was taking kick-ins.

Kickins for A have been mainly Dale and a few Crozier (who I think is worth consideration as a Coffield replacement). The main thing thats impressing me with Richards is his run and drive with the ball, and his ability to find space to +6 on the overlap. He looks full of confidence and I really think that 5-6 game stretch at the back end of the year isn't just a spike, its a sign of progression for him.
