Anyone legitimately looking at Ratagolea R2?
Have had Grundy since it opened, pretty much.
Price-wise I guess Draper might be useful but not sure he can get to something like a 90-95 sort of clip.
Have never considered Grundy, looks lost
Drapes belong on a window - not in my SC side
Esava - R3 option only unless you have a Jackson /DC/Cox/Blivcas in your side to dpp in emergency

I think you can genuinely have him at R3, put the emergency on him and see what he scores.

If he puts up an 80+ Round 1, you can pick Madden and at least you got the security of seeing his week 1 score (but you'll be running the gauntlet for the next few weeks at R2)

If he puts up a sub 60, you can just go with premium rucks (or even McAndrew if you really ballsy) and you've spent $70K extra on R3 but hopefully he makes some money or provides genuine cover.

Darcy looked fantastic yesterday, 75% ruck CBA - Jackson complimented him well. From what I saw yesterday, Jackson isn’t going to hurt his scoring ability much at all. Jackson is an upgrade on Lobb & will be the clear backup ruck, Darcy the main man & Jackson will use his athleticism around the ground. I think they will work very well together as one of the best ruck combos in the league over the next 5 years.
Darcy certainly firmed into R1 calculations for myself after yesterday.

Good info! The headline number for me there is actually Reeves - 70% with Meek is a pretty clear first ruck position, maybe he's the early value?

First six: ESS, SYD, NTH, GEE, GWS, ADE

Very keen to ride the Darcy train again now that a viable R3 option has emerged in Ratugolea.
Do you consider him a better option than English? English is just 19k more and doesn't have Jackson to split duties with. Not to mention Lobb has gone to the dogs so i don't think Sweet plays at all and it reduces the need to play English fwd at all. The knock on English is he's injury prone, but so is Darcy.

With their “injury prone” classification, how do they rank comparative to other rucks or the league average for percentage of games missed due to injury during a specific time period? Are these injuries of a contact or non contact nature, are they related to each other (eg same injury/body section recurring), is their recovery time longer than the league average for specific injuries, if opting for surgery or non surgery could this impact further down the track and what is the associated recurrence rate for each injury?

If a player misses time due to flu like symptoms and concussion, does this increase their injury proneness?

Ratugolea will have too many poor scores to be reliable enough to be on field every week, think people are getting a bit excited from a pre season game against probably the worst forward line in the comp myself.
Yeah, not sure he's an on-field option. I liked the way he played as will score well doing it but agree the competition was woeful.

I do think he's a very solid bench option though if we get confirmation Henry is out for a sustained period.

I personally don't like to waste a position that can make cash, in large part because I'm absolutely dreadful at looping anyway, so would love to have my R3 make cash.

Reality is that most seasons you've got a loophole by round 3 anyway.

He's rucking to no one and hitouts are pretty much all he does. I really don't like that dynamic. Especially if they lose a couple of those games and magnets start spinning.

Plus, I can't help but feel like Meek is the better player and that neither is really a good KPF option so you'd get to round 5 when Lewis is back and he could be out of the side entirely.

Too much uncertainty for mine, definitely could be the answer but the idea with not going premiums is to make 50k and be pretty safe doing it while assessing everything, not to have even more questions than the premiums you're not picking!

Bingo.
People get too excited about Rnd 1 Rookies, when you can see they are pretty much filling a 1 or 2 game gap. Better leave them, and get them if they hit the bubble.
Yep, 100% this. If they're not there until round 6 to make the cash then all you've got is a really hard hole to fill, especially if they're on field which the rucks kind of fall into by default. Not as bad if taking at R3 though.

I did like the look of McAndrew though, he more than held his own against Fort and OMc. I'd say that 20k extra for a chance to make 100k+ is a good spend at R3 but, again, I'm not a fan of throwing away a cash generation chance for a loophole.

Lachlan McAndrew - 2022 VFL Stats
Games: 16
Kicks: 1.9 pg
Handballs: 2.8
Marks: 1.5
Tackles: 1.4
Hitouts: 9.6
Fantasy: 29.8

He kicked 7.5 for the season
I did see someone on a Swans BF thread lamenting that they used Sinclair as the ruck all of 2022, and were hoping they'd let McAndrew develop in there this year as they wanted to last year. So guessing very little ruck time (imagine the future where we get CBA numbers for VFL!)
