Got this side atm people, thoughts welcome. I'm all aboard the Shrek Darcy train after seeing the ruck split last week and the utilisation of Jackson

rookies bit of a guess for now. Still keen on Butters despite shoulder worry. Would like LDU as a second value mid but doesn't fit the current structure.

Edit: Just seen a comment from Scott which makes me doubt Bowes.....TBC

I’m actually not atm, seemed to play more of a lockdown than rebound HB role in the WAFL and don’t know well he can rebound with subpar kicking at AFL level. At the u/18 champs he averaged 93 playing as mid which is good, but doesn’t justify the price tag in my eyes and not sure he gets much mid time. A lot of praise has come out saying he’s been great so he may have improved but want to see it first.

Agree, I'm not sure where this complete love in for Ginbey has come from. Unless he shows something in the pre-season game, he doesn't seem to be an on field option. This begs the question whether it is worth paying $171k for a bench option if he does have the job security?

I can tell you he was one of the best players in the intra-club game they had - plenty of midfield time. At the u/18 champs he won 46 per cent of his possessions in the contest. Shuey seems to be getting phased out to a half back role, Yeo & Ginbey were rotating between half back & mid. This kid is very developed, such a shame he had a minor toe issue so he missed Friday's game - I think once you see him play you will change your mind. Simmo mentioned that he is already one of our best runners/ right at the top of the tree with the endurance tests they have been doing which is impressive considering how well built he is.

Just reading more about this, I thought he could go well in the middle with the right amount of mid time considering his build but didn't realise the role would be there. I am more open to the pick now

Yeah I am, he’s been a 118avg mid in games with over 60% CBA’s since 2021, has an injury game lowering his price and probably doesn’t cop the tags he got late 2021 to start the year. Was going 118 before he got a nasty calf cork and then a strain last year. Think Zerrett gets the attention early after the back end of last year, the tags is why I didn’t even consider him last year. Absolute pig when he gets going, think he’s been the most underrated pick in terms of ownership of the 600k+ mids

He had a bad one in Rd 21. 29 touches @ 75%, 11 contested, a few tackles, a few clearances, equal most inside 50s and most metres gained for the Bombers but only scored 87

They got pumped by 14 goals though, how are they placed this year?

Be prepared for the masses to jump on him after another lacklustre Steele performance.

had just come back from a calf strain that followed an unrelated cork so I don't think he would have been 100%, had played 1/7 last games
