Is andrew mcgrath a trap? Played pretty well yesterday but not against much competition?
Also will not share the field with 46 other players for a piece of 3300 points during the regular season.

What are your expectations for him in terms of average and comparative to those around a similar price range on his line or in the midfield, forward or ruck lines? Will he have enough games around/over the 110 range to compensate for those in the low or below eighties?

Has anyone thought of going light with premos in the midfield? Running with 2 and a green. And the rest with rookies and a couple of mid pricers. Thats where most the value lies. Spend more in the defence and forwards where we need to field less rookies?
May want to give this a try. I have been running this strategy in pre-season and now down to one premo in defence, 2 in rucks and 4 in fwds with plenty of $300k players, they suck up a lot of cash as do expensive rookies.

He has the talent to ave 100+. His going to see lots of the ball, will heppell take his points when back in the team. number one draft pick surely needs to take his game to the next level.

There isn’t alot of options in defence under the 500k mark. Ginbey is a massive lock but part from that, im not super confident with yeo either.

Probably where Bowes has some value if picked, although it is a weak cash regenerating $277k player. Same for Yeo.

Challenge is who are the premium defenders you want, with not many offering value.

Dawson - looks ok
Stewart - could be ok but may soften and get attention
Doc - looks good, started to weaken last year late before mid role. Maybe my no.2 pick now.
Sicily - does he have more accountability this year, ball will be down there a lot, will the midfield pressure be there to make his job easier for intercepts.
Sinclair - a few questions being raised.

Probably Dawson and Doc, interested in thoughts.

Rookies - appears to be 5-6. ideally one may sit in mids as back up.

Dawson looked like he was cruising yesterday and still tonned up.

This bloke trying to throw us off Gulden.
Factual information, could be a warning sign too. Jaiden Popowski ran numbers, only Touk and Dunkley ave higher than practice match score out of those who scored more than 100 in preseason last year. Prior year a bit better, however, still well established names in that group.

I would find the comment @wogitalia posted about how Horse coaches re Gulden risk, overlay above comment made on Gulden post game, and come to the conclusion I think that yogi's hurdle set on midfield minutes hasn't necessarily been met.

That's what I've just done. Flicked Oliver and reinvested elsewhere with Bont, Steele, Green then Hopper + Rookies in the middle.

The Ward one is the one that stands out to me.... Cam Mackenzie could have a lot of Ward about him. Ward went 36, 53, 54, 41 after going 124 in the preseason. Mackenzie only went 99. I think he is even identicaly priced to what ward was last year at $180k.
Mackenzie looks more composed and a better user of the footy than Ward. Also they've lost senior midfielders compared to last season.

I have always wondered if leaving funds in the kitty to help with early trading should be something I’m doing as part of my strategy. Very curious to see how many people do this and if it’s something you pre plan for each year?
Welcome, and I've always liked to have at least 30 to 50 grand in the kitty if possible, just makes it easier for those early correction trades.

Maybe, i didn't watch the pre-season game where Ward scored 124, but i'm sure he looked amazing too. A lot of rookies look amazing in the preseason and don't follow through in the regular season. I brought Ward in last year and he brunt me, so Cam-mac at the same price has me nervous. Still not sure what i'll do. Depends who else in named round 1 i guess.
