This is bizarre … Oliver is the best inside mid in the comp in recent memory.
The only thing I can think of is maybe they are experimenting with it as an option to break a hard tag that he may receive during the season so seeing how well he can play half back.
I think Flanders is a tougher pick with Touk in the team.
I 100% think he's a better option than McLean now, but the extra price and potential to be stuck in a **** position could make me struggle.
Callaghan locked for me. Finds the footy, uses it well.
Only one I reckon you could even consider fielding now is Sheezel and he really needs to get a run in the backline to make it worthwhile. McLean is a dead pick based on that last game.
Might look at Grundy/Marshall to start. Then buy Gawn after round 6, cheaper than his starting price. Get grundy in the fwd line eventually as well and bring in the best ruck to pair with Marshall.
Has anyone thought of going light with premos in the midfield? Running with 2 and a green. And the rest with rookies and a couple of mid pricers. Thats where most the value lies. Spend more in the defence and forwards where we need to field less rookies?
Currently down to Oliver, LDU, Green. It's not just the value in the mids and the mid prices and desired on field rookies there but it also allows me to run McLean at F6 and field Yeo at D4 I then only have to field 2 from Ginbey, McKenna, Wilmot and Cowan.
Has there ever been a preseason week to flip so many narratives all at once?
I mean suddenly, McLean has gone from the safest F rookie to gone, we have a bevy of rucks to pick from, it's Mid Price Mid Line Madness and Oliver is a half back?
