Thinking about it, I might just hold Yeo at D3. Although capable of a 110pt game I think I would have been okay with a 95 if he was going to play.

So I can put the E on Cowan (D7) and see how he goes. If he pulls a 70 out of the hat, I can live with that 25pt difference. Having come this far I am not keen to re arrange the team deck chairs too much. If Cowan drops a 40 then I can look at who I can start at D8 that might do better and swap them Friday. Currently have a 123k placeholder there but I can get to see the teams tomorrow and who are options.

If Yeo suddenly cannot make it for rd 2 at least I have seen players like Day and Ziebell play a game and get a line on their prospects.
Was thinking along the same lines. However, it’s a calf injury so no guarantee Yeo will be back Round 2. That’s a fair amount of coin sitting on the bench when it could be used elsewhere. Certainly has made for a very interesting start to season 2023! Let the chaos begin! 😉

Dont have the confidence in defence rookies I once had, thought the vast majority looked pretty average and one of the good ones in Constable is probably 50/50 at best to last a month in the side, just forced to go deeper than we originally thought.
Hopefully Cole & Jones get the job done until I can move Ziebell back (providing I get better coverage forward).

Going to start Ginbey in the mids to swing with Constable , a few Suns due back in the next few rounds.

See how Cowan goes tonight.

Been differing views on McKenna & Wilmot.

Team selections might throw up a few different options as well.

Seem to be a lot of forward rookies getting overlooked so it will be interesting seeing how it all pans out after the first 2 games.

Hopefully the rookies I have picked to start are the right ones and have the right balance across lines.

With Billings out for the first 6-9 weeks who takes over his role.?

Any Sainters want to share there views.?
I'm not a Sainter but it's likely to be Mason Wood. I'm not sure where Jade Gresham fits, he's probably a little too small to play Billings' role, Gresh was one of the best mid pricers from last season, basically unowned too. Saints situation is interesting from a SC perspective.

Why on earth would you lock in an injury with an uncertain return date, when you don't have to? Surely you leave that joy alone for as long as possible.

Weak. :p

...I probably won't watch it all either, it is not likely to be a high quality match. I did hear something about the Essendon coach (or possibly Matt Lloyd, some dirty ***** anyway - they both are) wanting them to be more aggressive, so that could be fun to watch if they try to get themselves rubbed out.
Would not get up that early for this game either. Hope to see a mongrel approach from the boys this year.

Reports now that it will be longer than one week so might need to revisit the "hold" idea today.

So I’ve got an antenatal class at the hospital tonight with the wife in preparation for our first born. Means I’ll miss the first half and will have to catch up on delay.

This week we have been asked to bring in a doll/teddy to the class.

I sent a text to the wife this morning saying “even the baby wants to kick back on the couch and watch the footy tonight ….” (And attached the below photo)

Didn’t go down that well tbh
