NFI what to do, but it will involve three trades. I knew I was underdone, but this was ridiculous. I think I want to downsize Stewart price-wise and use the cash on other problems. PLease help. View attachment 54297
How much cash in the bank? To me it looks OK.

Stewart down to Ed Richards, L Jones up (who can you get to)? Wilmott to bench. Back in Constable to have a better ratio.

That changes things for me with Laird. I didn't know it was hot over there
I had him captain. Im pretty sure he suffered from some sort of heat stress. The only positive is that the score only effects one price change. Im likely but not certain to do 3 trades. Im not trading laird. If he scores 50 next week he can leave my team!

50k in bank.

Yeah, I might be overreacting to a nightmare round one. Problem was I had Sheezel and McKenna on the bench.

Just never had such a bad round in my memory. Sitting 120k overall!

Take a deep breath and relax.

Starting side looks fine on paper.

11 x $ 500k+ players + Gulden.

Hopper extremely popular

Pretty much the same rookies as the rest of the competition.

Yes the Stewart injury is unfortunate and the Laird score as captain no one saw coming.

It is not the end of the world though as it is Round 1.

Stewart - > anyone of the half a dozen $ 500k defenders who went 100+ or Richards.

If Jones is not named could use as a loop , otherwise hold and see what Bonar , Buckley , Cole , Stocker score in Round 2.

Give Hopper another chance , then look at the alternatives for Round 3 eg JHF , Setterfield or Callaghan or down to a Phillips or Phillipou

Give Flanders another chance.

Pretty sure Laird will come good.

1-2 trades this round , 3 if necessary for Round 3 then happy days

I think you are in way better shape than you think you are.

Looks like we have 22 players the same , so if it's that bad I might be better off deleting my team already 😀 (Admittedly no Stewart , Jones or Laird)

You clearly have been lucky over the journey :)

Bad rounds are part of SC. I don't think many of your starting decisions has been particularly flawed, you just copped the bad luck. You could even hold Jones if he gets up and just pocket some cash from the Stewart trade (and then choosing the player you like rather than forcing him right down to maximise cash availability). Then after another week of data you will know where to spend that $$ more effectively.

I wouldn't be changing the rucks or any of your premos. You don't have too much MPM going on. So really you're just having to accept that 150-200 points are gone due to unfortunate injuries, and another 100 due to on field rookie roulette, and 100 more to captaincy carnage. That's 400 points of bad luck right there.

You just need to set yourself up for next week. If that means moving an extra 2 this week that's OK, but I don't think it's as bad as you might feel right now

Hopefully!

There's some real 50/50 decisions this week that could burn either way.

1. Trading Fyfe
2. Trading Jones
3. Trading In - JHF, Daicos, Sheezel

Both Fyfe and Jones could turn it round against North and Saints - wouldn't be the first time trades have turned out a -ve net loss

Yep. I'll back him in this week. If it's another 50 then I may trade him just for team value reasons. Even 101 I'll be holding him.

For mine I'm thinking the following with these players:

If Jones is named I think I'll keep, St Kilda should be a good matchup for him.
Sheez I think has to come in if he's not in your side already. Daicos looks like a 110 player this season but Geelong did give him a ton of time and space last Friday, not sure teams will allow him to play as loose. Upside is he's such a clever player he can find space pretty well even given some attention. JHF, would like to see one more week but it was certainly an explosive debut for his new side, looked like Dangerfield in the middle.

I'm feeling your pain Zimmer, I'm currently 86k odd & also had both Sheezel & McKenna on the bench. I was so tempted to trade out Caminiti/Greene to get Sheezel's score so many times but stuck to the long game strategy for maximum cash generation & than cop 33 & 34 from them

Whats people thoughts on bruhn and flanders, watched the game clearly bruhn hasn’t got the tank to run out a game. Looks like he was going to be the sub before the Stewart injury. Flanders role wasnt great but will give him another week.

Nope

First poor game in many years, game was played in extreme heat conditions/high humidity that he has never played in before & had real breathing issues. Many players have said it was the hardest game they have ever played in. Backing him in to bounce back hard, Laird is a gun & would of been embarrassed about what happened on Sunday, I expect a big response this week v tigers who don't tag.
