geez that's a mighty response ,gives us hope Your bad luck bit is spot on .Someone else's turn next week
Great response from Frosty Neil and yes luck does play a big part in this game, you can do all the right things and still have a horror start by something as simple as 2 injuries and a heat stress affected captain, whilst the guy with the flukey autopicked team scores 2360 LOL, what the hell is that? ;)

After much thought , and initially wanting to trade Neale to get Daicos and Young, I am trading Fyfe for JHF and Flanders for Sheezel.
I've been dead set on getting rid of Jones and Fyfe since sunday night but am starting to lean the other way now. What if Jones and Fyfe come out and score 100 each on the weekend? Same with Flanders.
Almost 40000 coaches have already traded Jones and Fyfe out.
Conversely, what if JHF only scores 60 or so?...I just think maybe they're worth another look before burning a trade. Fyfe didn't win two Brownlows from being a crap player.

It really depends on your team’s situation, what your most pressing issue is.

The Fyfe that won 2 Brownlows was as a mid, very different playing as a fwd & not easy making such an adjustment.

Do you have Sheezel?

Yeah I have Sheezel, but passed on Phillipou for Pedlar, re-watching the Saints game doesn't make me feel like clamouring for Phillipou yet.

Those top 1000 will probably be autofilled in the main so we may well be closer to the true potential leader, by that, not 400 behind but 250 .

Hey community, thinking I'll sit on my hands this week but just throwing it out there to see if I'm missing anything? It's weird to not have any obvious moves amidst the carnage.

Likely next week will be something boring like 2 of Hopper/Jones/Chesser to Callaghan and Phillips. Just taking an extra weeks info. Could be tempted by a JHF/Ziebell (not afraid to boost). No way to Daicos unless Laird looks bad again.

This is interesting. My team is quite similar to yours. I have the same 5 premo fwds. You have Neale in the midfield over my Callahan, and I have Dawson at D2 over your Stocker.

After a lot of thought I think I am actually going to flip a premo! No not Laird, or Sean Darcy (yet lol) but one who is doing his job fine and looks like a 105 ave keeper in Taranto.
The reason I am doing this is because I can foresee big trouble in the backline rookies. Cowan looked meh (cramping & subbed) Constable has awful DE/ball use and will be lucky to last till round 4, Jones has a stiff neck, looked shyt and only scored a big ton in a praccy match vs an awful North side dropping the ball on his head the whole game, probably his biggest sc score for the year!

I am flipping Taranto to Daicos and L jones to Sheezel. This is a structural correction in case my rookie fears become reality in the backline.
I don't want to be flipping 2 or 3 backline rookies over the next few weeks and have shyt scores on field when a few forward rookies in Sheezel/Pedlar and Chandler-(who i already have) have shown up and I think will score better. It also fixes the forward line in regards to having 2 spots open for dpp changes. I went in 5 premo fwds deep because I coudn't identify which of the backline 500k group were the best/a real option. Now all of Daicos, Young and Richards look to be doing what people suspected they might do. I have the money to look at JHF/Ziebell, Phillips and Pedlar for another week and bring 3 of them in if they fire again.

If Laird drops a 100 or less I can see you flipping him to a backline premo but you will still have Hopper to deal with most probably. Phillips to bring in most probably, Chandler/Pedlar to get in over Greene most probably and L jones to deal with too!

All the best whatever you decide to do, just putting my thoughts down as someone in quite a similar position to you.

100% this on Fyfe.. as tempting as it is to offload them, those that picked him (me included) picked him for a reason.. a fit Fyfe can be an absolute weapon and at his price a brilliant POD

I'm set on this as well. Hold for round 2, Freo's upcoming draw and whether JL makes the necessary adjustments for Fyfe gives us an slim opportunity to make some good coin in a few weeks. Some will say this is copium, but it's only round 1 going into round 2.

Correct, we picked Fyfe for his easy run, we just thought Saints would be part of that. Old Ross out coached his former team I guess.

Think we have to see how he goes this week. He is not going to get mid time, yet as a forward has shown an ability to score 70--80 in prior years and now has a good run. Mostly likely still goes but less see after this weekend.

For me, If I had Flanders and no Sheezel then he would be the one to trade. role is not great, has a mixed run. should do better this game but expect he is up and down and a slower burn.

Considering Stewart to Cole and will watch Saturday games. Unless I think I want JHF JDG Daicos post Saturday, will maybe look to bring Cogs in on Sunday. Otherwise may have to hold fire till round 3. Jones can sit on bench, warming up a spot for Yeo in round 5 if needed.

Daicos - think gut running outside players are the easiest to tag, not hard to find fit footballers . so will wait to see how Port go trying to curb him without tagging. Bruhn has easier run coming, Hopper has history of +90, all deserve another crack.

Very helpful, and plenty of food for thought. Thanks Gruffles.

Flipping Taranto is such an intriguing play and I don't hate it! Kudos to you if you go through with it.

My defensive structure before any changes is:
Sicily, Docherty, Ginbey, McKenna, Wilmot, Constable (Chesser, Cowan).

I have concerns about the long term (until Rnd 6) viability of Constable\Chesser\Cowan.

Chesser\Cowan may be an ongoing substitute or even rested, while Constable could be a 'Relton Roberts' played twice and miss a large chunk of the season before reappearing [Constable would not have Relton Roberts fondness for Hamburgers].
