Is there a world where Darcy Cameron averages within 5 - 10 ppg of the godlike English?
Yeah I dunno about that world. However there are plenty of realities where Cameron plays another 21 games and English plays like 16 or something in 4 one month blocks, never being out long enough for you to trade him but scoring you fewer points and charging you an extra 100k for the privilege

Just sayin' 😀

Setterfield a must have at 350K? You reckon he is going to average 110+ this season?
He doesn't need to. He only needs to average 105 for 7 weeks. He's got some stiff competition in the next 5 rounds but if he gets 3 3 90s and a 100 he's projected, he gets to 480k by round 6, having made us 134k in 4 weeks and leaving us 1 up 1 down possibly from any player on the board

It's not inconceivable that he hits those scores.

I would if I didn't need to free cash up to get Daicos... it's almost irrational how much I want this kid in my team after seeing him the first 2 weeks  Probably going to be my first picked for the next decade, the most talented 2nd year player I have ever seen play at this level.
Most talented 2nd year player only because Sheezel is still in year 1 :p

Current team :-

Screen Shot 2023-03-27 at 4.46.22 pm.png

Initial thoughts were :-

Bruhn > Chandler (Cogs fwd)
Darcy > Cameron
Jones > Daicos

News that Hopper might miss this week, can either cover with Baker or swing Ginbey up via Chesser & play Wilmot (will make him E also)

Team would then look this :-

Screen Shot 2023-03-27 at 4.50.14 pm.png

Cash: $10,300

I would prefer to keep Doch & Ridley (saints this week so should score well given the numbers they are giving up to defenders), Jones last 2 weeks has had 2 head knocks... have concerns.

Means I miss out on Setterfield & Ziebell but they don't really suit my structure/ current requirements.

Anyone prepared to roll the dice on Pendles? The half back experiment looks over, but it did bring his price down to a pleasant 520k. Been rolling back the clock with dual 120s to open

Go on.... 1 last time.... you know you wanna 😀

Gawn - Cameron
Steele - Ziebell
Chesser - Daicos

Leaves me with 250k to either try and swing in an extra mid price next week or stash away in the “Get Clarry before he wrecks your season with all those MCG games” fund.
Don't forget that Stewart should be bottoming out by the time the Cats go back to GMHBA too.

Agreed think it's a really strong option, assuming Bytel comes back in for Steele. Setterfield set to make a lotttttt more cash than Chesser.

Told myself I'd play the value game as much as possible this season.
No rule against trading Bytel back into your squad if he deserves it in a week's time. It's as inefficient AF but you could do it in a pinch

Looking at something like this ATM:

Greene > Chandler
Chesser > Long

a.(Flanders > Setterfeild)
b.(Flanders > Ziebell) - swing a Premo F/M into the mids for a while.
I'm not sold on trades like Chesser to Long. I don't see rookie corrections as great value if the guy you're bringing in is averaging less than 75.
Gawn - Cameron
Steele - Ziebell
Chesser - Daicos

There's a lot of operation "get Daicos/Cameron/Zeibell/Setterfield in" type trades in this thread. This is one of the few good ones.

It'll be interesting to see what the Bombers do with regards to the Saints game. I was expecting the Dogs defenders to put up good numbers again against the Saints but they were putrid. I get that the Dogs wanted to move the ball against the Saints a bit quicker and not chip it around and let the saints set up their god awful RL zones but they didn't have the skill level and movement to make it work. I was expecting Ed Richards to be the main beneficiary to run that ball out of defence as the link up but I missed the Crozier affect. I'm a little gun shy now. I've learn't my Bevo lesson again and want to just distance myself from the Dogs, that presser with Bevo, gee he looked like ****e! he'll be lucky to see the byes out.

Ridley I didn't watch the game but the red flag was seeing Redman clean up, I think Wog mentioned it also where they'll probably share points week in week out, my question is whether that's enough to ride Ridley at D6? I'm contemplating just cutting my losses (and trades) and trying to ride some luck later in the season and ditch both Richards and Ridley and bring in Daicos, LDU and Darcy Cameron. It also gives me the week to look at Bowes and bring him in next week for Flanders.

I guess with your team, you just have to be comfortable with ditching Darcy to Darcy, everything else makes sense. I again didn't see the Freo game so I'm not sure what the red flags are on Darcy but his numbers at half time were a worry.

I need to surround myself with players I like

That's the million dollar question lol.

If Cameron continues to be the main pies ruck (which I suspect he will be) I think he can average 110 from what I have seen first 2 weeks.

Darcy is a very hard one, when in form/ connection with mids on song he can go absolutely huge with 150+ scores. No doubt Freo will be working hard to get this fixed so really it depends when they get that sorted for Darcy to start scoring big again.
I'd put 5 bucks on Cox getting the number 1 role in rounds 4 and 23 (Big O), 11 (Goldy), 13 (Grundy), 16 (Witts), 17 (English - maybe a role share) and 18 (Hodor). All of those guys would slaughter Cameron in the ruck but Coxy goes ok against them.

110 could still happen but I'd temper the expectation a bit. That's 7 games he's likely to be playing forward where he ranges from spuddish to inconsistent.

Edit: The Sam Draper games (rounds 6 and 24) might also see Cox spend more time on ball too. Cox does better than Cameron against the physical types usually

Reckon he was even better in the second game against Freo and was robbed by CD, was better than a 114. Saved the game for the Roos near the end by stopping a behind and lost supercoach points for it for some reason. This kid is unreal, understandable why Carlton tried to trade up the draft to get him.

The issue there though is you’ve used 2 trades for $130k. One to bring him in and then the one to get him up to a genuine premium. Not sure the upside is enough to be worth 2 trades - I agree with the earlier comment about either having started him or passing. I think you need either need to bring in players with a chance of being a keeper, or players with a bit more upside.
