With Baker 95 on the bench (E) now may need to remove Greene for Chandler.? Or just hold and Save a trade. Already spent 4

For those that started English, well done, massive jump in the pack

For those who bought in English last week or this week, has durability been factored into the equation? Starting injury/concussion prone players makes sense as you’re not burning 2 trades. For the record I’m not saying English is a bad trade but there must have been reasons for not bringing into the original team so what’s changed now?

Have missed those points now. Well done to those who started him.
It's one thing to umm and ahh, if and but in the preseason while waying up risk of injury/durability issues ect
It's other thing to sit there watching a guy monster your ruckman week in week out while you sit there rocking back and forth mumbling
''He's going to get injured soon, he's going to get injured soon, I know it will happen soon, real soon, soon, soon, soon, soon''

I think what bothers me the most is all the talk of them being "at AFL standard". That's a few coaches in a row that have used the same phrase now in that situation.

But... Isn't part of that standard being able to keep it up for four quarters?
Exactly. Don't think enough coaches use the sub strategically enough.
A debuting kid running out and starting on the field has the excitement, nervousness and adrenaline to be most effective, rather than sitting on the bench, doing nothing for 3 and a half quarters and racking up a couple of stats, or a goal, usually when the game is over.
I'll say it again: the use of Tippa as sub was perfect from Brad Scott in round 1, and he didn't take any prisoners with taking Heppell off last week either. He wasn't injured, but he was having a shocker. Guelfi came on and kicked 2 goals. All the kids that were playing were given the confidence of their coach to play out the game start to finish. (It's strange to be talking positively about Essendon coaching decisions.)

Didn't say I wont be trying to get him in. ;) Should have this week.

Might even reverse my Darcy > Cameron trade to plan for it. Will have to see the cash situation.

Yeah gut feel is Cameron
I missed him last year and have Errol in other formats and in sc draft teams
Always go with the gut

The captaincy is annoying
I’ve taken clarrys 113 and 135 so far so as you say the high side is 18+ points the downside is -4 points on this years evidence
Still torn
Gonna annoy me til 4:30 tomorrow arvo before I have to pull the trigger either way on the madden loop haha
Sydney tagged Oliver last year, he still scored 134 SC 102 DT at the MCG

In my case I started with big Max and going into this week English was the standout replacement. The moment I traded him in I stuck the VC on him, and expected to use it, which confirmed to me he was the right trade in.

Yep well aware that he’s prone to the odd niggle (and a concussion would be a trade-out in his case, as it would be 3-4 weeks , I’m hoping for him, and me!, that doesn’t happen). Niggles are the more likely and more tricky problem coz 1-2 weeks.

Which is why I want to bring Cameron into forwards, but the only viable path is via Callaghan. Not sure I’ll be able to afford it nxt week in a single trade, I can just do it now. Cameron beng named forward with the new fella being named in the ruck is putting me off. Plus losing Callaghan who I still like for a 75-80 average.

Not seeing a lot of prospective premos in the forward line. Gut says Cameron as #1 ruck is a premo fwd this year. Not worried about Cox I reckon the clear plan is 80/20 fwd for him.

New guy listed on fanfooty as 193cms. Is he a ruckman??

Trade Callaghan to Cameron? Y/N?
RE:..........Cameron being named forward with the new fella being named in the ruck is putting me off..........New guy listed on fanfooty as 193cms. Is he a ruckman??.......

You have to ignore the possible team line-ups, they are not factual, only a guide. The new guy, Ash Johnson, is a key forward, he may do some relief ruck, is what I would expect.

Trades are valuable but not as valuable as what they used to be or as valuable as what a lot of coaches seem to think. I used to take injury history far more into consideration because you needed every trade available to finish your team. Over the last few seasons, I have been upgrading my bench for cover as the number of trades available increases each year (essentially).
