This move leaves me with 29 trades (3 boosts) and $13.3k remaining.

Barring any injuries, this will be my team until the bye rounds (Edit: on second thought, most likely not lol) - FYI have not selected VC/C's or set my field yet.

Talk me out of this, am I insane, trigger happy, or onto something?

I was thinking of boosting my trades this week and getting L. Jones/Callaghan/Flanders out for Baker/Phillips/Chandler, but I'm thinking Day might have the more consistent scoring.

Leaving Callaghan in for now (line-ups may change this of course) but currently going for:

OUT L. Jones, S. Flanders
IN W. Day, K. Chandler

I think you'd be better ignoring Oliver. He will have down games, trading him in after a price rise is not the time to be targeting him. Now is the time to trade into irrepressible value not top price.

I think Cameron/Callaghan to English/Rowston (other rookie) is a better use of trades.

EDIT: Cameron out means English at top price is a consideration, I wouldn't be suggesting you trade DC to English if DC was playing.

Thanks for that Macca....Oliver is definitely a target, just wasn't sure how to do it.....good option will certainly consider it
No worries at all, everyone on this site is great all with some great suggestions on how to improve each other’s sides…
Bont still should be top premum but he will likely drop some coin and you could pick him up cheaper mid year….Oliver not see easy to obtain after this week

Just realised that after trading Stewart to Ridley after Rd 1 the result of the trade after 2 rounds, which seemed like a no brainer at the time was:

Ridley 166 points
Stewart 167 points

Who could have foreseen that???
Not wrong…Stewart has cost me a couple of trades…if we had known it was only one week he would miss, would have held and saved the trades

Nah. Unless he plans on going full Ablett, he'll drop a game and considerable coin.

It's just a matter of how much damage he does to the rest of us first

Any suggestions on trades this week?

Thinking Cameron -> Phillips/Bytel (via Davey) Chandler on field F6

Worpel -> LDU

180k bank for Ridley -> Stewart week after and maybe Constable -> Rookie

Right now I'm trying to justify my trades.

JHF with a BE of 88 in my mind is a failed MP, he's meant to be scoring pts and making $

Worpel is pretty much in the same boat for me, his 45 last week will stall any real cash gen as well.

So they're gone, I see LDU as being a top 10 mid who'll be around $630k after the next 2 weeks and will cost an extra trade to bring in at that price, so the lost cash gen from my MP's is made up by the ability to pick him up at a cheap price.

My other trade in would be Day, yes I missed his 1st price rise and at 400k should really be a keeper, nonetheless he's playing as a mid and scoring well, who knows, he might become a D6 with DPP, but a 100k price rise is hard to ignore

I do not like any buys in defense this week.

Day *could* work from this price point, but its an outlier outcome. Things against: age, injury history, body type + role (81kg mid that height playing that role?), lack of inside ability due to body-type, bottom 2 team, variance with opportunity from week to week in a losing team looking to change things at stages, price are factors against. Price is a massive factor against.

Factors for are talent, and possible solidified role with comments supporting this from his coach. Very good SC score against a good team in the Swans.

As I said, the pick *could* work but it's an outlier outcome. I hope that comes true for you if you decide to go in that direction. In this game you truly do have to risk it for the biscuit, one winner, and one winner only.

Cant agree with you there @aj74…whats your logic based on for Oliver?
only went below 100 three times last year….( two of those with the impacted hand after the cats game)..

has a Breakeven of 111…might get down to $650k at worst….…would you really want to wait for that and miss the points as well?

sound plan playing Chandler F6…
could save the trade and do Cameron to LDU straight up…
allows you to keep Worpel whom should bounce back against the cats, whilst getting another look at Brocky or Van Rooyen from the Dees….both $123k forwards that should get decent job security and are cheaper than Phillips…
