2 flags in 23 seasons from teams based at docklands (and you could argue that 2000 didn't have a list with an accumulation of fatigue from playing on concrete). Given that something like 25% of the league plays the majority of their home games there it seems a bit of an anomaly....
Yeah, I knew there were stats like that and more. It's hugely significant. But it's also tremendously stupid for a big club like Essendon to go there when they did. Moving away from the MCG was based on money a club like Essendon didn't need. These details aren't considered enough, or only by die-hards. Suits run this club/game. But we're familiar enough with this conversation @frosty. Might leave it there.

Hickey is listed as 2-3 weeks.

How do the Swans Supporters see Amarity role when Hickey returns. Does Ladhams become 2nd Ruck and play KPP forward or does Amarity get the nod.

Watch the reply of the Swans game, Amarity looks good around the ground and is half way decent at the stoppages. Could be a POD Cow for a few weeks.
Amartey’s role last year and year before was more of a forward when Buddy was out, but I actually think he’s played himself into a spot the past two weeks.

His issue previously was hitting contests with enough impact and holding his own in one on ones. He’s definitely rectified this from what I’ve seen. Looks much stronger (as evidenced by throwing CJ around like a rag doll two games ago) and hits a pack hard now.

My only thing with picking any Sydney forward at the moment is that we don’t have the easiest of runs. Port we usually have trouble with, Richmond at neutral ground, Geelong at GMHBA and then GWS who we always seem to struggle against (frustratingly).

TLDR: think JS is good, however next run of games a bit tough.

So Darcy Cameron out - appears it wasn't some dark April Fools weekend joke

Better trade I guess - Wish I could add a poll to my post for everyone to vote either Witts or English to take the decision out of my hands, rucks have been humiliating me for years.
Whichever way you go, you can go the other next week.

When you inevitably need to trade them out.

As someone who owns neither and am keeping my two rucks (Darcy and Marshall) I would go with English over Witts. Think he’s just playing super well at the moment and there’s no reason why I don’t think he can keep it up. Witts looked pretty tired at the back end of last game too, so there’s a possibility (minute chance) GC will consider an able ruck to help him out.

I’m scared English is going to end up averaging 30+ points more than my best ruck, but for the minute I’m just copping it in the hope there’s a reversion for all players.

Wouldn't have picked him as a forward if they were going to play him there for the majority of the time.

I'm going Witts over English, just for the reliability factor, you could dance with the devil and go Grundy, haha

Grundy is a guaranteed trade who most likely has scored his highest score for the season so I'll think I'll take my chances with Witts or English. The extra money saved on Grundy isn't enough to do a real upgrade elsewhere for me so I'll pass.

Not a Swans supporter but Ladhams won't play when Hickey is back.

Amartey is essentially facing McLean for the job as 3rd tall forward / secondary ruck.

I do think a bad game (or more likely two bad games) would see Amartey out of the team, but he's also the first player in if any of Buddy/McDonald/McLean are injured.
I agree with AT that Hickey not a factor, AT has left out the main threat to Amartey which is Reid.

We will play Reid (2nd ruck), Franklin and one of McDonald, McLean and Amartey, I'd say on performance and potential McDonald is currently clearly ahead of the other two and Amartey has clearly outperformed McLean. Reid listed 2 weeks away but with his history could be anything still.

I'd be surprised if Ladhams was kept in as a 2nd ruck, he's been very poor so far this year as the #1 ruck so don't really see any benefit of playing him over guys who can impact games up forward the way he's rucked, he hasn't managed to beat the 2nd rucks when he's faced them (he got outrucked by JVRoo on debut last week at one point).

So basically, Amartey has two weeks.
