What are peoples thoughts on Rowston? Named in the centre for weekends game and attended a few CBA last round. Job security?
A bit late but he already surprised me with how willing Kingsley is to keep him in. I'd thought he'd be out after his first week, but they've kept him in and he's improved each week. Definitely not untouchable but if they are a role for him there's no obvious like for like in the reserves.

Good rookie performances in the VFL/SANFL/WAFL:
Josh Fahey (123k DEF/MID) had another 37 touches (31 kicks) for GWS VFL.
Jaxon Binns (117k MID/FWD) had 31 touches and 2 goals for Carlton VFL.
Toby McLean (178k MID/FWD) had 47 touches and 9 tackles for Footscray.
Jason Gillbee (102k DEF/MID) had 24 touches and 1.1 for GWS VFL.
Zac Taylor (123k MID) had 26 and a goal along with 9 clearances for Adelaide.
Karl Worner (123k DEF/MID) had 27 touches for Fremantle.
Nice list. Moved to the rookies thread.

C Wagner (71DT, 20 disposals)
S Sturt (75 DT, 2 goals)

Also did well for Peel

The only real POD is that JVR will have played his 2nd game this round and be on the bubble for R5 whereas Williams won't be on the bubble until R6 if he keeps on playing.
Yeah I’d wait until R6. Just thinking that if people go JVR then it would probably mean they can’t get Williams as most would then have Greene, JVR and Williams as FWD only options who you wouldn’t want on field.

I think Sturt is very close, their forward line is terrible.
I started Sturt as a donut to play to get Chandler's early scores on field. Freo have been ordinary and despite that, he looked to be getting further from the team having dropped out of the emergencies, so I flipped him yesterday. If he comes in next week I'm going to be seething.

I suspect Greene would be highly likely to make way for teams planning on bringing in a JVR/Williams type.

Fielding Williams if he keeps that HBF role is not the worst outcome, even JVR is he keeps on ticking over the goals and playing second fiddle ruck. If you're planning on moving Ziebell/Sheezle to Def in R6 then it's comforting to know that you can field them short term prior to being able to upgrade those positions.

I don't know if Young has a good role for SC scoring, but I have read that Broad and Gibcus expected back in a few weeks, which could force him off the Team. Doesn't look like it is worth trading him in if he will not make enough money and he doesn't seem to be scoring well enough to field.
Robbie Tarrant was the logical replacement for Tylar Young, however, Tarrant was injured in the Reserves.

Thanks for insight and links TT. Are Broad and Gibcus not seen as an issue due to them being 3 weeks away (now maybe 2-3 weeks) or not like of like players.
Tylar Young has played at FB and is more in the mould of David Astbury.

Grimes mentions Tylar playing against key forwards: (1:31 - 1:52)

I was annoyed Witts was a late out (I was able to bring in English) but it mean't missed the Tylar trade.

I found out about Witts 3 minutes before the start of the Rich\Foot game.
I only found out an hour before their game when the news was confirmed, you must have a very reliable source to know that information well in advance.

Luckily for me, Grundy was still available as a viable alternative...for now.

when they announced it was like it had been speculated earlier, must say I hadn't heard anything
