Strategy 2023: Round 5 Trades

Punting Doc for Day. Made my opinions on the old stalwart clear enough and am happy to roll the dice on the in form up and coming kid
Going a couple of weeks early on Cowan too and picking up Kozzy. Hoping for 90s and maybe another spike or two.
Leaves me really open down back for a week. With Carlton playing on Thursday I won't know if Ginbeys getting rested and will have to hope either he or Constable covers D6. It's abrisk but Cowan has shown himself likely to cover only 50 points. Hebhas another 50 or so k to make. Would rather take the punt on Pickett.
Will let JVR go. Not sure he is worth a boost and my rookies need to moo some more. I have non playing rookies in Chesser and Constable but can't get them out for JVR this week. Think that they might still come in handy anyway

Not a chance. Menzie is a great rookie that most people missed. Scoring 75 on the weekend he is about to start making some good cash. You'd have to hold him for the next two while that score is in his rolling average, surely.
Is there another rookie you can trade to JVR instead? If not, I don't think he's a must-have.

Seriously considering Hopper and Jones to JVR and Redman.
Hopper just seems too hit and miss to be worth riding the mid price train.. too high a risk of poor scores that will also stall any cash gen. Jones is probably 45-70 most weeks meaning he’s not a huge loss, plus feels like he is always close to an injury.. might just be me but he’s seemed sore a lot!
Redman looks like a sneaky POD.. 3 scores over 110 and a 49 vs the saints where I’m inclined to put that down to coaching as he’s a good player to shut down. Thankfully that stalled his price so he’s still a bargain at $503k. Feels worth the punt to help shore up my backline that has Goater and Constable not playing atm..

Out: Docherty, Jones, Ginbey
If Docherty recovers form, he'll be at an easy upgrade price anyway. Day looks like he'll finish Top 6 to me and I'm punting on Rampe to return to his past 100 average seasons. Going early on Ginbey out as I think Michalanney will outscore and out-cash cow him over the next month. All my other rookies still have some milking to do.
Skipping Van Rooyen. Brown probably back next week and Gawn in 3-5. Don't think he'll score enough to make a trade worthy while my other rookies are all going fine. Next focus is Hopper up to Miller/Neale/Laird in a couple of weeks
