Played: J Dawson, R Laird, A Brayshaw, J Hopper, W Ashcroft, J Dunkley, C McKenna, D Wilmot, H Sheezel, J Ziebell, W Phillips, J Van Rooyen, K Chandler and C Oliver (VC)

Yet to play:
Saturday: M Bontempelli, T English (C) and J Horne-Francis
Sunday: T Stewart (new recruit), R Ginbey, J Kelly, N Daicos and R Marshall

J Kelly making a late charge at the captaincy duties thanks to the Bombers spoiling the party for Oliver early on. Great matchup as well but unlikely to budge from English given his form this season and that I don’t think Lycett will cause him much concern. Looking forward to Horne-Francis hopefully posting a 90+ once again and another ton would be greatly appreciated.

Horne-Francis once again avoiding a possible trade out and English continuing on his merry way. Stewart debuts today and hopefully he performs better than his keeper league teammate, A Brayshaw, in my side. Perfect opportunity today for Kelly to post a 150+ and reward the hold through RD2.

Did Lycett have some sort of a knock or niggle? Seems a strange tactical sub choice.
Lycett is pretty close to losing his spot, arguably indefinitely, good serviceman but he just doesn’t really have any weapons other than physicality.

We’ve got a bunch of project ruckman on the list and I’d imagine they’ll give one a go real soon. Honestly don’t mind Finlayson R1 with Dixon chopping him out though and they’ve shown in the past they’re willing to do that.

Thanks mate, good info.

I have both Lycett and Dixon in a keeper league, so at least there is a handcuff of sorts!

How many other Grundy owners are a tad nervous going into this week?
Surely Gawn is not needed this week against the Tigers in the ruck?
Against such a formidable ruck duo it seems wise to welcome back the saviour no matter how premature it may be given the season long ramifications of losing to Richmond in RD6 and the insurmountable odds of winning enough games over the remaining 18 rounds to make finals.

Does render the Grundy acquisition as redundant and why would you want to ruck Grundy all alone and rest Gawn if this situation presented?

Love a bit of tongue in cheek reasoning. The only problems I see is them getting smacked around the ball by a “rebuilding” midfield, and telling a fit Max he isnt playing coming off a bad loss.

Jump those hurdles and we’ll maybe get another week of Super Saiyan Grundy.

I think if Melbourne's FWD line yesterday worked Gawn would get another week but it didn't so I can see him coming back. I just don't think Gawn back and playing significant minutes in the ruck when he's a better forward than Grundy anyway is the way they'll go. Just seems logical to me to play Grundy these next few games with significant minutes in the ruck and around the ground, play Gawn forward which also helps develop JVR - at least that's what the coach of my SC team reckons.

So what did people make of Dylan Williams' game. Didn't get a heap of it but scored a 51. Good role in the backline, not sure if it's worth a downgrade or not. Fwd only makes it difficult as well.
