Feels like I'm forced to use another boost this week, holding Day and now Green will knock 100pts off, adding an extra premo should mitigate that loss to 50pts I suppose.

I also wonder who might get fwd status after the first 6 weeks? Gawn may have been a chance but I don't know what happens with limited games played - is there a minimum number required to get a new status or just based on percentage after 6, 12, 18 rounds?

Bailey Smith I'd another I suspect will get it but has looked pretty poor. I'm sure there are others, not sure if any are worth looking at though.

Also for those with Chesser, Constable, Wilmont, thry are handy links to swing into the midfield to open up spots for the North duo.
Fork me, I'm a flipping idiot.

Didn't realise position changes have already happened.

Can do:
Ginbey -> Ziebell
T.Green -> Touk

Feels a little sideways as I do really rate Green as a mini Oliver. The other option is:

Probably more sensible but will mean i'm fielding JVR/Greene/Roberts instead of say Touk from option 1 with Green getting a week.

Other option:
Baker -> Roberts/M.Johnson/D.Williams
Ginbey -> Laird/Neale/Touk

I'm a Green owner as well and will hold. He's given a 107 average for $530k, it's hardly a disaster. Would love to see him turn those 90s and low 100s into 110+ but maybe this isn't the year.

As a reference, Sheezel, Pendles, Jeremy Cameron, Serong, Luke Ryan, Grundy and Daicos are the only players who started cheaper and have averaged more.

Go for the upgrades - I'm bringing in Touk. Laird next week, hopefully Oliver the week after.

The first wave of rookies are starting to max out so I'll start on the next batch and continue building a war chest

Ginbey, Cowan and Baker all look to have slowed too far or stalled. Roberts, Johnson and Williams look decent enough to roll the dice on.

Boosts my bank to 669k which is a bit eye-popping. The temptation is to go for Touk or Neale instead of the 3rd rookie but I'm really concerned as to where the next phase of cash gen is coming from.

Each week that I don't have that cash spent costs me 40 points from being a premium down on field but if the rookies work, the payback in 5 weeks will be that I can afford to finish with better premos, making those points back and then some over the final 13 weeks.

Next week I'll probably grab Smitch from Chandler, if only for the link and might even take Wagner for Pou. That would leave me with 980k to spend, starting with Day, probably from Ashcroft, leaving 880k.

I'll then target the likes of Cogs, Sinclair, Sicily, Sprayshaw and a couple of uber mids. I've got 4 non-Ziebel MPs to help with that though will likely need a couple more downgrades to pull it all off. Might even trade back Into Macrae, Doc and Chesser(!!!) who ought to go better after his rest (hint hint Tom Green owners)
The bolded is a huge consideration for trades this week. A lot of names being traded out in this thread still have 50-60k to make in the next few weeks on average alone. If people are boosting 3 of those players out that's 150k gone begging. Throw in a spike game or two and its and extra 100k lost.
It's a bit of a balance in coming weeks to max cash gains from existing rookies, catching fallen premos and getting the next wave of rookies, to make sure that, during the main upgrade season, you can afford true premos to finish your team.

Any love for Hawkins? Seems to have found form and recovered from whatever was hampering him over the preseason/early few rounds.

$430k with a BE of -6, and coming off a 104 ad 151.. Syd this week too that is likely to still be missing key defenders. Has that great bye and historically a top forward on total points, could be a extremely cheap forward line replacement for anyone moving Ziebell and/or Sheezel to the backline.

I'm interested in Cogs and Lloyd this week possibly. But might even just do a downgrade of McKenzie to Roberts which gives me $300k ITB, other rookies still have money to make

People are frustrated at his ~100 scoring (instead of 115-120+) so are looking for an excuse to dump him.
It's not ideal but it's not completely disastrous either. He's not really burning cash and also not producing rookie scores which would be a disaster. One I think that I will trade out around his bye, can cover him with Phillips/Roberts this week. Prefer to upgrade the rookies around him over the upcoming upgrade season.

not sure on this, but callum wilkie could be a nice pod.

last three games 104,117,156 and looks good

thoughts?
Very PODdy, yes.

We spent all Sunday kicking it to him and I have no idea why. We did a similar thing for Harris Andrews and friends the week before, bombing it long to our non-existent tall forwards so maybe it's got something to do with how the oppo coaches have decided to defend our attack?

Ross Lyin' likes parking the bus at the moment on account of how he's running half the Sandringham squad in his first 18. This would make it hard for attackers to find space inside 50 and maybe try bombing it over half forward more. Good for Wilkie when he isn't up against a dominant tall forward setup perhaps

There are a few more issues with the trade screen than just the lack of a search filter atm. I would suggest it's an upgrade gone wrong, but time will tell.
Hope they fix it before friday
Yeh the dpp swings don't work at all, can't trade in a fwd for a def when I move Sheezel to the backline. Not sure if that's just me being dumb though.
