Discussion 2023 Round 6: Teams & In Game Discussion

So many rookies lining up to be traded out.
Wilmot (don't have), McKenna, Jones, potentially Chandler soon, Ginbey and MacKenzie already gone for me, although Ginbey could be a $300k consistent player for those that kept him. Greene, Esava, JVR, Pou, Holland, Cashcroft either a couple more weeks or consistent for now.
Only issue is our new shiny toys are disappointing, Roberts 33% owned now the new Chesser 28% owned (don't have thankfully). Johnson on 12% (let's hope Freo decides to play the kids).
Noticeable bench strength looks thin out there for many teams, with plenty of us still carrying Constable (62%) as well or maybe a Madden (28%)/McAndrew (16%). Davey in 53% of teams as well and like Cowan (48%) not an attractive level to trade.

Think you did a good job having them off field. Going to kill a promising score for me this week. Kicking myself with Roberts especially. Don't know what I was thinking. Greene was an obvious better option given that the Hawks are playing at Tas, even if it is against Adelaide.

I get the feeling that this week and next are pivotal for a lot of teams this season, especially given the JS and potential for subbing of the current and future rookies. Cash generation and points on field IMO is genuinely harder this year, so keeping those rookies with a higher level of JS on field is much more important to me even though some of them may lose a bit of value.
I was swayed this week into keeping Ginbey/Mackenzie/Chandler mainly for cover as I'm fielding Hollands and Michallanney in place of Geen and Day. Traded out Baker and Wilmot whilst upgrading Cowan, they were all bench rookies and yes, I have Roberts to deal with now too but once my team get's it's reinforcements back next rnd I'll have Ginbey at D6, Mackenzie M8 and Chandler F6 with Max-Young-Hollands-Johnson-Roberts-Madden-Davey-JVR filling the bench spots.
If I had have traded Mackenzie and Ginbey then I would have been fielding Wilmot and Roberts, so a bit of a win there so far given that Mackenzie hasn't played yet, we'll see how the next few weeks pan out with regards to the holds but I'm happy enough for now.
The challenge for me now is to have enough rookies on the bench and earning $ so I can eliminate rookies on field rather fielding the problematic ones.
Roberts and Davey are 2 that I have to think seriously about ie: I can't really afford 2 trades for little or no return ITB but on the other hand hopefully kickstart a bit of cash gen from their positions, Mitchell and Wagner on the radar but who to trade out?

Just depends on who you have I guess. I traded Lloyd in which meant I could have either McKenna or Ginbey at D6 (I flicked Sheezel to D5 via DPP).
Given I wasn’t going to take Johnson’s score, I made the decision to go McKenna at D6 and swap Ginbey with Chesser to make Ginbey my M8.
This left me with one more decision of whether to play Roberts over Phillips/JVR/Chandler/Greene at F5/F6, which was never going to happen as I was happy with any two of those options.
