Here's the article in full. If SC follows, it will be interesting to see how everyone structures up with quite a few appealing defender and forward options now available.

PATRICK Dangerfield is set to be the most relevant player in AFL Fantasy in 2019.

The Geelong superstar holds dual-position status for the season ahead and is every chance to be the top scoring forward of 2019.

Essendon’s Devon Smith was the top scoring forward last season and he retains MID/FWD status while Port Adelaide’s Justin Westhoff is named as a RUC/FWD. The duo, together with Dangerfield, were the only players available as forwards to average more than 100 points this year.

Josh Dunkley enjoyed more time in the Bulldogs’ midfield in the second half of the season but remains as a MID/FWD as is his teammate Toby McLean.

Some of recent top draft talent have dual-position status with Tim Kelly, Zac Bailey, Paddy Dow, Bailey Banfield and James Worpel carrying the MID/FWD tag next to their name.

Carlton’s new recruit Will Setterfield was already looking like a popular pick following his move from the Giants. He will have more fans now that he is available as a MID/FWD.

Only 13 players hold DEF/MID status.

The pick of the bunch appears to be Bomber Andrew McGrath who has added MID to 2018’s DEF classification.

After playing as a half-back last season for the Giants and gaining DPP in round six, Lachie Whitfield will be available as a defender only. Same goes for Docker Connor Blakely and Hawk James Sicily.

West Coast’s Elliot Yeo was at the top of the table for defenders this year, but he will just be a MID in 2019. Angus Brayshaw, who had a stellar season for the Dees after finishing third in the Brownlow, also copped the same fate due to his role primarily being through the midfield.

Some Fantasy Draft pundits are bullish on Tim Taranto’s value in the new year. After showing some great signs throughout 2018, the young Giant is available as a MID only; a position where he may not mix it with the elite after having his FWD status stripped.

Other MID only prospects who have held other positions in the past include Paul Seedsman, Ed Langdon, Reece Conca, Brett Deledio, Jed Anderson, Tom Rockliff and Mark Hutchings.

The team at Fantasy HQ is currently putting together the prices for the upcoming season of Fantasy Classic. Stay tuned to AFL.com.au as The Traders will be profiling the best picks from every club for Classic and Draft in the lead-up to the launch of the official Fantasy game of the AFL in late January.

Yep, Danger and Devon Smith lockity lock starting premo's next season if this translates to SC. Also, can anyone tell us what Will Setterfield will be worth, could be one to watch.
$ 136,990.00 if he gets the full 30% Discount.

Stocker will be $ 121,800.00 based on Powell's price this year.

Devon Smith as a fwd is a gift.
approx $ 543,972.87.

don't mind Tim Kelly @ $ 517,049.09, do 2nd year blues still count for him.

Daniher & Greene questionable , might be tough too start to many over $ 500,000.00

Suspect Danger will be a auto select when the game opens

I have Westhoff (F/R) @ $ 562,669.57 , wasn't last year his career high in SC ?

Grundy $ 725,128.72......130.45
Gawn $ 708,705.95......127.50
Martin $ 587,430.06......105.68
McEvoy $ 566,310.82......101.88
Westhoff $ 562,669.57......101.23
Goldstein $ 561,153.62......100.95
Westhoff a likely trade in target for me. Start a R/F floating donut (lock) and bring the key in when required.

Be curious to see what price they give Mummy although I think he is suspended for 2 weeks.

I will certainly be going Grundy + ? + ?.

Once prices and positions are confirmed then the fun begins

Mid 200-299k could be interesting if he is named Round 1 then roll the dice he lasts enough weeks on the field to be a trade up to a Premo 2nd ruck. Any higher seems too risky for mine but it depends which other options present.

The Dangerfield news makes it essentially a 29 player game, virtually everyone will have him.

Although I'm looking forward to reading the occasional posts with compelling arguments to be contrarian and not start him!!

Yeah that idiot IDIG will find some ambiguous stat and decide not to start him....then proceed to b*tch and moan about how stupid he is, make the corrective trade, then b*tch and moan about how stupid he is for not trusting his gut when danger scores 90s while his POD, Dunkley goes beast mode after hes been traded out.

Happens every year  :p:LOL:

I think you will find when SC opens we will only have to pick 29 , Danger will be already in there :)

I'm usually the biggest nay-sayer to these ridiculously popular players, but all things being equal, if he's fit, you start him!

Really digging the Hoff as R2.

Was thinking I'd go with Grundy + Goldy, but replacing Goldy with Hoff seems like a decent place to start, let's you wait on Gawn and see how Pruess effects him.
Or maybe one of your fwds is a bust, could dump them round 3 for Mummy and swing Hoff forward...

Planning on taking that Sweet fella from the Doggies as the floating donut unless a playing rookie is named round one, opens up the swingset very early.

Hell yeah good to see Danger get DPP, opens up the midfield options even if it hurts the forward podness. Better than having Menegola as the no. 1 forward heading into the year

I’d actually prefer for him not to be a forward. For mine he is a lock in the midfield anyway, so I was happy to have him as a POD against those who took a different view.

It’s a relative game!

But imagine actually utilising Danger's dpp in the bye rounds, the sweet nectar
