Yep, then more often than not he just bombs it to nobody in particular. Would want to become a better user of the footy to be in consideration for my team.

Hahaha - yeah, he learned that technique at the Dons. My comment was more about the new rule than looking at him as a fantasy prospect. Haven't really considered him at all TBH.

I only watched a little bit of the first half before switching back to the Dons v Blues. All I noticed was he was definitely playing back. Got a couple of touches but nothing stood out.

Spoilers for the MPM comp - Dow was the equal most selected player I mentioned a week or two ago based on the early entries (along with Ziebell). I added him to my main team after that as a potential POD pick (he was sub 5% ownership), hopefully he carries on this form.

How many spots are available in Essendon's best 22 ? (not sure how many they have lost from last season apart from Saad , Daniher & Fantasia didn't play enough games)

I gather Heppell gets a spot

recruited Caldwell , Hind , Wright I would imagine for a reason

Cahill , Cox , Jones , Perkins , Reid (not playing today)

possibly Waterman

Not sure the stats on this but I think he is a good ball user, does occasionally bomb it long, but is mostly pretty reliable

Saad's more effective when he runs and links up with handballs, his kicking really lacks penetration.

Saad's more effective when he runs and links up with handballs, his kicking really lacks penetration.

He doesn't have a good low trajectory drop punt but can kick to good spots long and can do good dinky short-medium kicks. I am more than certain that he's an above average kick.

Can see Waterman slotting into the role Townsend was playing last year. Stringer to come back will force one of the forwards out.
