Good for Meek. Peter Bell's message the other day could be interpreted a few ways. There was a hint that Darcy had to play forward to get a game. Also good for Meek.

Fanfooty had Cahill playing forward role however preseason talk was backline. He had no i50 or r50's. Where is he playing?
Playing half back flank...from what i saw seemed like he was getting to some good areas few times but his teammates wouldn't dish him the footy! Haha....not sure if he is worth the premium with all the options around or not. I think i take fullarton over him but not sure if i take harrison jones over him if you know what i mean.

Exact same thinking, Cahill over Jones maybe.

Jones over Cahill if I need the cash.

If Treacy were to miss round 1 that would very likely mean that Fyfe will spend a lot of time forward.

I have Fyfe in my team at the moment but if Treacy isn't named then I'll be forced to replace him.

I think he'll be spending a fair chunk of time forward anyway. The Dockers seem to have a few forwards injured, not sure they have enough quality there compared to elsewhere.

...I'm still strongly considering starting Fyfe anyway.

No Darcy either , interesting that if he is available for Round 1 they wouldn't give him some sort of game time.

Yeah I can live with him being 70/30 mid/fwd but not the other way around which I think he would be if Treacy is to miss.

Lobb was one of four players that suffered injuries during the loss to the Eagles, with Michael Walters (hamstring) also set to miss Round 1 along with Mitch Crowden (calf) and Bailey Banfield (ankle).

Speaking on Fox Sports News’ AFL Tonight on Wednesday, Longmuir said Lobb and Walters’ respective setbacks wouldn’t force Nat Fyfe to play more inside 50, declaring the forward-midfield split plans for the superstar skipper would stay the same.

Longmuir said small forwards Liam Henry, Sam Switkowski and Travis Colyer, who played just 12 games between them in 2020, would be considered for early senior selection, as would Treacy – a nimble 193cm forward that’s ferocious at the footy with great hands and an efficient kick.

Yep, saw that JL said that.

Do you think just Taberner could be the lone key forward target if Treacy misses though or is there another player that would play as a key forward?

I think they'll go with the second tall forward, whether that is Treacy or Darcy I am not sure. I reckon Treacy is in the box seat at this stage. Can't see Darcy getting up for round 1 given his inability to train and injury history.

Excellent. Slight worry that Treacy has been named in that Peel game but if he or Darcy is named round 1 then I'll back Fyfe in.

I think if both Treacy and Darcy miss then it's no Fyfe for me though. Unless Meek could be that forward target too? Or is he solely a ruckman?

One of Darcy / Meek resting there to just provide a contest should Darcy get up for round one ?

My takeaway from all this: I've never been so invested in a Fremantle selection meeting in my entire life.
