Absolutely, I tried the AFL Fantasy for the first time in 5 or 6 years last season and it's awful. Pretty much everyone agrees it is terrible from my experience, so you would think they would improve it, but apparently not.
Why spend money improving it if the AFL is going to give you free advertising every game anyway and keep getting you new players who don't know any better!

Yet AFL decided to move away from a well run comp which was at the same level as sc, no way this comp had anywhere near the numbers dream team used to.

Actually, I should stop questioning the decisions the AFL makes as we all know there's little thought or logic behind most of them anyways.

Is it worth isolating the excellent game summaries into one thread that’s locked out? As a ready reference.
I’m finding myself coming back to this excellent thread over and over but it’s slowly getting added to. Just want the match summaries ideally :)

Bermi, you have summed up the two choices and how people will assess Neale. Given the likely shortage of cheap rookies and need for cash, it is making more sense to drop Neale for Macrae/Fyfe/Kelly (personally Fyfe and Kelly miss too many games). On tonight's performance and how Neale looked and moved, I can see him going low 100's for half of his games until the byes.

The other potential opportunity is in ruck pricing and scoring. Watching games this weekend it seemed like there are less ruck contests per game and therefore less HTA and CP opportunities for rucks. Not clear yet, but if this is the case all rucks may be facing a 5-15 pt drop in averages. Spending 1.4M to take on a 20-30pt drop before the first ball is bounced doesn't make sense. Especially as inside/outside players and distributing backs seem to be the beneficiaries and likely to increase scoring. More for Kelly, Merrett, Walsh Daniel, Rich, etc.

Finally all the coaches are seeing a greater impact of the reduction in interchange on pace of game late in quarters. Likely those with elite endurance may benefit late in quarters and the game. Some more research required to figure out the players who will benefit.
The following are averages per game (CB = centre bounces):
2019 season proper: CB 27.16, Stoppages 49.88, Total 77.04
2020 pre-season: CB 26.94, Stoppages 45.89, Total 72.83
2020 season proper: CB 21.51, Stoppages 37.67, Total 59.18 - Let's scale that up 25% for shorter quarters
2020 season proper: CB 26.89, Stoppages 47.09, Total 73.98
2021 pre-season: CB 29.78, Stoppages 32.22, Total 62.00

As I said, it's a small sample, but I can understand your concern! In Round figures, Goals up by 3, but stoppages down by 16!!!
Net result, 13 less Ruck contests.
Will that trend continue? My guess is yes, but not to that full extent.
If a Ruck like Gawn is getting 70-75% of his SC score at, and around stoppages and CB's, and those contests drop by say 15%, it's reasonable to say that Gawn's scoring, all things being equal, will drop by 15% of 72% = 11%. The flip side is, they will now pick up slightly more scores "around the ground" to compenate for that, so you might see a net effect of say a 8% or 9% drop, if this continues to be a thing.
