Trades made: Bergman to Jordon
Points Lost: D 0, M 16, R 41, F 42, C 0 Total = 99 about what you might expect.
Heroes: Gawn 326, Ziebell 155, Ridley 147, Dunkley 132, Steele 132, Merrett 115, Warner 112 = 7/1,119 - ave 159.9
Villains: (I have my own policy of no Rookies in Villains). Martin 48, Mitchell 89, Neale 89, but more for hiding the extent of his injury, until after the game!!! AFL for having 24 hour team announcements, instead of Thursday night. It cost me $59,700 and 76 points.
Comments: With Highmore out, but being announced AFTER Neale had played, I copped my first donut for the season. I could have traded in first gamer Parks, and got his 51 points. I decided pre-season, when faced with exactly that scenario, I would not trade to protect a 50-60 point donut. I had tossed up heavily, right up until game time, of trading Neale to Lloyd. Had I known, what we know now about Neale's injury, I would have done it. Had I known Highmore was dropped, and I was facing a donut, I would have done it. The net result of not doing was a $59,700 loss and a 76 point loss. I guess it doesn't look great, when 7 players contribute 1,119 points, and the other 14 + 1 donut contribute 931!!! Aside from all that, my team has a couple of problems, but it isn't in panic mode. Neale, obviously. Maynard seemed lucky to get to 81, but he will survive another week. Martin S scoring lower than I hoped, but he's had a tough draw, and I thought he got the rough end of the stick this week, and could have had a 70 with an even break.
Intended Trades: Will depend largely on injury, and early selection news.

Trades made: Sharp and Cripps to Jordon and Impey
Points Lost: D 0, M 41, R 0, F 13, C 0 - Total = 54. This is an indictment on my bench because I had Campbell and Dow on field!
Heroes: Gawn C 163, Grundy 162, Ziebell 155, Dunkley 132, Taranto 114, Warner 112, Impey 108
Villains: Dow 27  Campbell, Jordon and Powell also well down on their first two weeks.
Intended Trades: Dow to Ridley, undecided on whether to even use my second. Chapman looks good but if I bring him in too I've used five trades and not upgraded yet?
Comments: Mostly got my on field players in order now. Have no intention of Brockman, Rowe, Bergman, Koschitzke et al seeing my field. Dow is the last weak link to go and I can basically turn him into anyone - as well as Ridley, Walsh also in strong contention. Tom Phillips is also a mild concern and as tempting as it is to turn him into Tex I think I just have to write that one off as a missed opportunity.

Hopefully Brockman becomes the donut I've been trying to wrangle for a few weeks now...

Villains: Not too many premium disappoints, Stewart, Short and Laird all just under 100.

Comments: Ironic that I went for cash grab and had one of my better weekly ranks, Highmore out and Butts 95 emergency score sums up the positive luck this week. Will look to bring in Ridley this week and Danger back from his holiday week after. Funny game this, expect some mean reversion will come my way..

Team value exceeded $10.75m target for round 3 - tick. League the focus.

Comments: Poor week. Gawndy came to play but didn't have any of the other big scorers for the round. Josh Kelly underwhelming again although I put that down to poor coaching because he had a very good 1st half before being moved forward. Glad to see Merrett come alive. I guess my bottom 4 really let me down this week, combining for 118 points at less than 40 points. Highmore out was annoying. Booted Cripps after hearing of his injury news. He played well but I am still skeptical of how he goes against better quality teams. It was a toss up between Ridley and Mills and while I'm down this week, I feel like they will score similarly over the season. Dow needs to go ASAP lol

Villains: Mitchell 88, Jordan 49, Campbell 29 & Kosi 22!
Comments:
Most enjoyable weekend of footy by far up until the last game of the round lol. Consecutive 2.3k scores and rose up 3k spots into the Top 1k! Will now just need to find a way to stay there all year. Original trade plans at the start of the week were going to be Neale to Oliver or Brayshaw & Bergman or Fullarton to Impey. However I decided to throw out all my planning and go rogue and bring in Tex. With bringing in Tex I no longer had enough cash to get Oliver so I had to cross him off the list. Next best option was then Brayshaw for me. So glad neither came into my team. News of the Highmore omission on Friday came and I was so relieved as I was desperately coming up with ways of getting Grundy’s VC score the night before. Also occurred to me that if Clark was a sub or not named that would equal a donut so I decided to scrap Brayshaw and move Clark to the middle and then it came down to Short vs Mills. Many pros and cons for both but ended on Mills mainly for that POD factor.

DEF: 9/10
(Ridley 147, Lloyd 116, Mills 109, Daniel 96, Laird 95, Kosi 22)
Ridley the clear no.1 defender. Love watching this guy play so much. Seagull Lloyd doing what he does best. New recruit Mills had a slow start but came back ending on a tonne. A bit disappointed with both Daniel & Laird as they had poor finishes to end the game after a good start. Kosi was just god awful. Expect him to be dropped.

MID: 4/10
(Cripps 109, Macrae 108, Mitchell 88, Clark 71, Gulden 74, Berry 58, Jordan 49, Campbell 29)
Clearly my weakest line and the spot that needs to be upgraded first ASAP except that I no longer know who to target as the two I originally wanted had terrible games. Macrae started off slow but ended on an ok score. Would have liked to see a bit more. Glad I didn’t captain him. Cripps also got off to a slow start and looked very slow. But very happy and it looked like he was moving better as the game kept going. Mitchell copping the O'Conner tag was a very annoying way to end the week. Clark was on the chopping block until that goal. Still unsure if I keep him. Gulden/Jordon/Campbell I assume most would have fielded these 3 so I’m not too fussed at their score. Berry was probably another popular on field spot or most would have fielded Powell instead. Scott on the bench ended up being the better scorer than 3 of my other rookies.

RUC: 10/10
(Gawn 163, Grundy 162)
The Grawndy combo does it again for the 2nd week in a row. Who would have thought locking in Grundy’s 162 would cost us a point over Gawn? Flynn nicely mooing.

FWD: 10/10
(Ziebell 155, Dunks 132, Tex 130, Warner 112, Dusty 85, Daniher 84)
I was sick of fielding dud rookies at F6. Round 1 it was Bergman for 31 and then round 2 it was Rowe for 19. Didn’t want to go through another rookie roulette so I decided to solve this issue by eliminating playing the rookie itself by bringing in a midpricer/semi keeper. Hence my planned Impey trade (which later became Tex). I assume that most would have been fielding Rowe while I would gain Tex who went massive so that was a huge advantage. I was nervous early on when GC were winning but once Tex got started it was amazing to watch. Daniher was a bit frustrating to watch at times but got a decent score in the end. Was great watching Ziebell at one end and then Daniel at the other when taking kick ins, the first time I’ve ever wanted players to kick more behinds than goals. Almost put the C on Dunkley as I had a gut feeling he would go larger than Macrae but didn’t in the end. Warner was so good and pretty much will be the rd 3 rising star. Dusty with a quiet game after 2 huge wins so I’m not concerned there. Fullarton & Rowe could be dud rookies soon.

Intended Trades: Chapman & Impey despite his price rise, I think he could become a keeper are the ones that are tempting me. Really wish I started Impey over Daniher or used my 2nd trade for him. With my history of running out of trades... I think it's probably best I don't trade at all.

Overall Ranking: 13,217 from 19,717.
Trades made: Dom Tyson to James Jordan and Tom Phillips to Tom Mcdonald
Intended trades: I have 212k in the kitty and it depends on Tom Highmore coming in or not. I could do Tom Green to Premo defender in Laird or Stewart.
Heroes: Grundy cap 162, Gawn 163, Rich 122, Steele 132, Cumming 99, Dunkley 132, Ziebell 155
Villians: Myself for bringing Sam Murray in last week only to be dropped this week along with Highmore and no cover at all, earning myself my first 0 for the year. Campbell and Rowe on field, Tom Mcdonald 50.
Comments: With a 0 in my defence and Tom Mcdonald having a shocker against a depleteted GWS backline I am pretty happy to score 2,189. From my round 1 rank of 41,948 to now 13,217 I am quite happy with myself. Only upwards from here I hope. I just have to stick to my plan and hope for luck on my side. Starting with this week I could fix a rookie in defence or trade Tom Green to a premo defender which would make me quite close to finishing my defence if Cumming can continue his role. I could wait and see with Tom Green though with the Coniglio injury.

Intended Trades: May look to get Ridley in.
Comments: Over all its just another "meh" week lucky for the C on Gawn , Degoey and Phillips are really making me considering a reshuffle of team wealth.
With the Neale injury news i was keen to move Cripps on just incase, this week it looked wasted but proof will be over next few rounds.
Need to nail a couple 2300-2400 rounds soon.

Comments: I followed up my best ever weekly ranking with an even better one this round! Wow - I couldn't have even dreamed of such a good start to a season, especially after a sub 2000 point first round, to now be just 257 points off the lead! This is definitely unprecedented for me!

That said, I was still a bit disappointed with my score. A few players that scored significantly below expectations, rookies struggling, injuries/form issues with mid pricers. Another week where I was close to a massive score, but not quite there. At least I am doing enough to be ahead of most other people in the comp, this round was good, I just need to keep it up and to keep trying to go that bit better - it'll happen!

4/4 league wins, with most of the leagues I'm in moving up significantly in overall rankings is great to see. I am currently top 4 in all SCS groups, including the overall and cash groups, which I hope to keep up/improve. All in all, far, far better than last year, where I was at a ranking of 40,000+ at this stage (and falling) and bottom 10 or so in SCS all season.
Intended Trades: TBC. Young and Moore both likely outs, but I'll sleep on it. I will need to start conserving trades at some point, as I have already used 4. Getting a full premium team is still possible from here, but these would nearly need to be my last injury/corrective trades. Team value seems promising too.

Heroes: Gawn, Tex, Ridley, Ziebell, Impey
Villains: Kosi & ME - had the 1 trade, didn’t realise Highmore got dropped until Friday, knew I would cop a DEF 0 and was drawing up plans to trade in Houston or Lloyd to avoid a 0, then completely forgot about the Adelaide/GCS game starting and Fyfe locked into DEF lol so had to cop a 0 (Highmore & Sharp on bench). Cost me a L in the SCS$50 League (lost by 30 rip)

Comments:
Part 2 - Ended up trading Phillips to Impey (cash grab) - ended up with Kosi + 0 in DEF with 644k in the bank. Probably will have a good ROI in the long run (as I got Impey over Houston/Lloyd)

Somehow managed to get 2200+ and hold 2k rank, can’t complain about it.

This round - D5 & 6 looking real unstable so will be bringing Jiath & Chapman/Houston, will depend on Highmore availability. NOT playing Kosi on field again ever

Comments: Well that score was a nice way to end the holiday. Shame tomorrow is back to work and probably **** SC scoring, but I will enjoy the brief moment while it lasts.

Nothing to complain about too much team wise - Zerrett, Jelly and Daniel haven't been great but hope they will turn it around. Very happy with the Zieball and Impey picks. Daniher building nicely and Clark and L Young hopefully keep their spots and put up some solid scores. Other rookies are going as well as can be expected and only the Highmore donut that is slightly irritating.

Time to tread water for a week (pending teams) and ponder upgrade season

Villains: Butters, Short, Campbell, Kosi/Highmore/Sharp

Comments: Standard trade failure, I didn't want Butters but I fell asleep at the wheel and missed out on Walker and then panicked into Butters (Sharp locked out/Laird already played forced me forward) and it paid all of the dividends that a badly made trade should... Impey move was great though so at least I have my first decent decision of the season since starting sides...

Rookie backs going as badly as expected... my 2nd last draft where I only had Highmore and Kosi is looking the goods right now and ironically would have saved me the two trades as well!

Chapman in the sights primarily this week, will assess when we have more information but I'm leaning towards no trades as the preference but expecting to make 1. 2 are possible but Phillips is the only name close to the chopping block and I still like him...

Villains: Oliver 67, Campbell 29
Comments: Pretty good week moving up nearly 7k spots. Feel pretty well set up with a good GnR structure and almost all of the good rookies. Impey almost matched Tex as my experiences trade in and Jordon should make cash. A bit annoyed that Cox scored well after I traded him out, but that was always a risk. Heppell was one I was bullish on as well, but missed games really impede his value as a stepping cow. 7 rookies plus Ziebell, Daniher and Impey on track to make $150k (eventually) if they maintain their averages, hopefully the other 7 or so can either improve from here or jag a big spike game. Keen to avoid sideways trading of premiums, I reckon they’ll be handy in cycling through rookies for cash gen purposes later on.

Points Lost: D 0, M 16, R 20, F 19, C 0 Total = 55 + 31 by trading Phillips over De Goey, time will tell on that one.
Heroes: Gawn 326, Ziebell 155, Ridley 147, Sloane 141, Dunkley 132, Walsh 124, Warner 112, Cox 93
Villains: Jordon 49, Campbell 29, Mitchell 89, De Goey 51
Comments: Highmore out and Kosi being largely underwhelming and looking pretty far off AFL level led to me throwing Cox on field. It paid off! Sloane has proved a great pickup and the rookies are motoring along. Will be keeping an eye on De Goey and trying to flick him away soon. Hoping he rises for the GWS clash. Macrae was underwhelming in a game that I was hoping he would go big but it was him v. Oliver for Cripps and I was on the right side of the bargain this round.
Intended Trades: Quite dependant on who's dropped and who's not. Likely Kosi to Chapman to keep the cash gen motoring. I do really need to look into getting another top end mid, I think having each one drop some kind of a stinker early has stifled their cash gen. I might sit on my hands for a week or two while I get a little more intel. Merrett and Oliver at or around 600k seem to be good buys and are on my radar. Next target is a FWD. If Marshall returns soon then I might take his first two weeks to see if he fires, or wait for Butters' score this week to roll into his price.

Comments: Both trades were somewhat of a failure, although i think it will be of benefit in the long run..... Just happy that it'll be the first week (pending teams and/or other announcements) that wont force me to trade an injured or suspended player so looking at trying to conserve trade(s). Only trade thinking is Kozi to Chapman - lucky that Freo/Hawks is in the final round which will make that decision a lot easier if it is required

Steady rising up the rankings from a poor start so things are heading in the right direction at least! :)

Villains: Campbell, Jordon and Powell on field. Macrae, Martin and Short not terrible but under par. Kelly not being played in a good position and role to score to at his best.
Intended Trades: None initially, but Chapman could be one to come in. Liking the look of Deven Robertson the week after and Waterman looks a must as well so might hold.
Comments: I feel any trade or non trade I make now will have me plummeting back down the rankings lol. Lack of cash in reserve not ideal.

Comments: Interesting week... Only 8 100+ (4 115+) but nearly everyone else between 78 to 100.

Meek over Flynn cost me 20 points, last minute change wasn't great.
Neale to Macrae I am happy with going forward. Ely Smith to Tex saved my week... hopefully one more big game to come.

Considering no Gawn/Grundy in my team and I had Fyfe on the sidelines, it was probably the best I could've hoped for.

Preference would be no trade. Kosi > Chapman is an option, the last game of the round, if Kosi was to be dropped.

Got my loops set up this week (Ridley VC, Campbell MID EMG) using Sharp at this stage.
